GaryCarter,

I feel your pain on the regens. When they kick in, I can see it on the EVIC average. I thought it was supposed to be an overall tenth of a mpg but it sure seems like a lot more. I'll be cruising and the EVIC will be showing around 18-20 and all of a sudden it is down to 15 or 16 during what I assume is the regen. Then it comes back and stays at 18-20.

Anyone have any estimates of how much fuel is used in a regen cycle?

BTW, I have found that if I reset my EVIC average at each fill up, it is pretty accurate on MPG display. It is usually no more than . 2 off from the calculated and that could be attributed to the amount I'm putting in the tank and whether I'm getting it all the way full.

Alan, I just drove 7k miles and hand calculated the fills and compared to the EVIC and mine is pretty accurate. Sometimes off a fractional bit high or low, but that's probably how much foam in the fill etc. Overall the whole trip it's within a tenth mpg or so.

Driving empty, I can be seeing in the high teens and when the regen kicks in the bar graph drops to 10-12. About once every 75 miles or so, and that's enough to pull the average way down.

Pulling loaded, I can't see the regens affect the mpg. I can smell it when I happen to stop while it's in progress, but the mpg effect is invisible to me on the EVIC.
