What really "honks" you off while driving?

Hey guys and gals here is a thread to post and vent everything that makes you mad while you are inside your truck or car... I want to hear what ticks you off, and I am sure many of us will be able to relate to your rants.



I decided to start this today while I was driving in a responsible manner, trying to get maximum MPG's. What's the problem? Well, I was getting every single light red! How am I supposed to get good MPG's when I have to stop and go at every light? Are the lights timed so that only people who speed can make them when they are green? Man! I know I can increase mileage by costing up to lights, but mileage would be even better if I could just go through green lights for a change! #@$%!



Also, how is it fixing a road to spray down a layer of tar, and then cover it with gravel? All that does is screw up my truck! asdlkfjasdfgpioasd! #@$%!

When pulling my trailer, cars will speed around you on the interstate only to slow back down when they get in front of you causing you to back off your speed. The "others" can't stand being behind a trailer even if their speed is slower then yours. (Now that you asked if feel better getting that off my chest... lol.

The 80 year old lady I followed yesterday that was driving 20 in a 45 half on the sidewalk and half in her lane... F'ing blue hairs!!!

When there is 3 lanes(6 lane highway) on your side, no trucks allowed in left lane (inside lane) and you got these bozos that are trying to save gas by driving driving 10 miles under the speed limit in the center lane keeping pace with the slowest moving semi in the right lane (outside lane) and they wonder why trucks were running into the back of them (the reason they gave for "no trucks in left lane"). #@$%!

Move over to the right lane where you belong!Oo.

People (usually in ricers) going 100 mph cutting from the 3rd outside lane across the other 2 lanes to sweep straight to the off ramp.

I wonder why vehicles travel in a herd? Wide open interstates out west, and there will be a whole group of cars like they are jockeying for position, no wonder there are big pileups, I always try to run in my own space on the open road.



Along those lines, I saw a car right on the tail of a semi last night that hit the dead deer in the middle of the fast lane as they where trying to pass me, don't know if he did any damage, BUT it serves him right if he cleaned the whole bottom off the car, so close to the semi trailer that he had no time for corrective action when the deer the semi straddled OK was suddenly dead center in his lane.

Also, as mentioned, the people who will pull right out in front of you and make NO effort to get up to speed!

People who will not get up to speed on the on ramps to an interstate. How are you supposed to MERGE with 65 mph traffic if you are doing 45 mph??? #@$%!

People who do not use turn signals!! Especially at a 4 way stop or if they are making a right onto a road you are waiting to make a right out of (and would have been able to pull out, had they freaking let you know their move!).

No brake lights, whether it be on a trailer or a vehicle! DAMN this is dangerous, people!!!

I am a left lane high roller, You LEOs know what i mean.



Just let my rig sing at 3K in 6th gear and all is well.



As a side ?? to LEOs : How much currency is a bad idea to get caught with if pulled over?

Tailgating soccer moms drinking coffee and talking on cell phone at the same time. I usually roll the coal over their hoods to get them to respect the space between us.

Drivers passing 4 cars on a 2 lane and then they try to sneak back in between to closley spaced vehicles and the whole line of traffic has to slow down to allow them back in...

Ditto tailgating. . while on the phone. She followed so closely I experimented by slowly weaving from one side of my lane to the other. She followed my slow weaving as if focused on my tail-lights... all the while talking away on that phone. That's scary.

-People who think that someone who drives a loaded 18 wheeler can stop on a dime when they pull out in front of them.



-People who are to CHEAP to spend the little bit extra to buy a "hands free" device to use with the cell phone and hold theirs up to their ear while driving.



-Those who do the holiday travel ritual and THINK that they can make a 1,000 mile or more trip without any rest stops planned along the way. This results in a fatigued driver and a possible accident waiting to happen.



-Lane Changing Leroy's... . You know the ones,they enter on a ramp,rush to the outside lane,while cutting those off behind them and then exit on the next ramp cutting those same people off again and never use their signals.



-How about the idiots who are sight seeing on an interstate highway and constantly are erratic with their speeds.



-Those who are driving in hilly terrain and know they have a commercial vehicle behind them who would like to at least MAINTAIN his speed for the hill and not have to hit the brakes at the bottom and struggle going up.



-Those who believe that the guy at the camper shop,who showed you in the book,that their silly little SUV's and import pickups can tow campers way to large and let alone stop them.



But I think the single most irritating one would be sport bike enthuiasts who make their own travel lanes when traffic does not suit them. I just seen one this week get scraped off the back of a big rig because traffic was not what he wanted and he "tried" unsucessfully to weave in and out. The move that cost him was one where he tried to slip inbetween a truck and a car in the passing lane... ... ..... Andy

Mine that I can think of right now are:

1. On a highway with 4 lanes (two each way) why, when you pass me, do you have to get back in front of me within 2 feet when the next vehicle closest to us is at least half a mile away in each direction? Happens at least twice a week and sometimes twice a day.

2. People that STOP on the on ramp because they "think" they can't merge. Its technical name is the "accelerator pedal", perhaps you could use it?

3. People that get mad at me or flip me off for doing the speed limit on city streets, especially around the school zones. It took me a long time to get those speeding tickets off my record and insurance payments lowered.

4. People who think they can tell me how to drive my vehicles. Listen bub, when you start making my payments for the truck, insurance, fuel, repairs, and maintenance then and ONLY then will you be allowed to tell me how to drive.
