I recently bought a Magnaflow 5" stainless turbo back exhaust system for my 04. 5 Quad Cab short bed. Since I have the short bed, I didn't need the extention pipe included in this kit. It dawned on me today that I could use that left over pipe to make a "torque tube". I removed the plastic tube that connects the air cleaner to the turbo inlet and measured it's outside diameter which is 5. 25". I slipped the rubber elbow over the end of the 5" exhaust pipe and it turns out the factory clamps can be tightened up over the slightly smaller outer diameter exhaust pipe for a very tight fit (the inside diameter of the stock tube is 4"). All I needed to do is cut the exhaust pipe to length and install it!

The stainless pipe also looks MUCH better than the ugly factory plastic tube!:-laf

The turbo is much louder now, and I had already gutted the stock plastic tube of it's baffles. It has a very pronounced whistle during easy part throttle acceleration whereas before it was nearly silent. You can also hear it spooling down very clearly now after lifting off the throttle.
