Wow!! lots of ideas, I expected 3 or 4 posts to this question given the general move to large singles, thanks guys.
Brett if you could please pm me with some info and costs to convert my sps66 over to a twins setup I would appreciate it.
I am guessing that a 66/big brother setup would be overkill for me I really don't want a laggy setup for daily driving (I don't find the sps66 too laggy with injectors AND pressure). Also, wouldn't that big of a setup require fire-ringing, studs and cam?? The studs I have no problem with, I may well do those anyway.
I haven't been on a dyno (so I don't know hp/tq) but with my setup if I go above 3/1 on TST egt goes above 1400deg/50psi rapidly, rail pressure doesn't seem to be dropping either though in fairness it is hard to watch the road, egt guage, and rail pressure guage at the same time. If I put TST on 2/1 egt maxes at a little over 1300deg/45psi, TST on 1/1 and it usually wont hit 1200deg/39psi. Of course the above is somewhat dependent on ambient temps, I am referencing ambient temps of about 70-75deg.
I want 600hp with egt under 1300deg, do I just want what I can't have??
One other thing, is 50psi with the sps66 the same as 50psi with twins?? Do they support the same power and provide the same egt managment?? Or not??
Sorry for the long post and keep educating me guys!!
Thanks, Rick.
