I am going to purchase a tire/wheel combo from an online store. What do I specify or need to specify for the wheels on my 1999 QC ISB 2500 4x4? Thanks

The lug pattern is 8 on 6. 5. The width is 6. 5, but I assume you will want to go wider. And the stock offset is 4. 75". IMO try to stay with the 4. 75" offset, or very close to it. If you go with less of an offset, the tires will stick out from the body more, especially with wider wheels, and there will be an increase in stress on the suspension components (more so than with just larger/wider tires and wheels)

My $. 02,

The wheels are 16x ? x 8bolt pattern on 6. 5. The ? is whatever size you want to use- stock wheels I believe are 16x7, I ordered 16x8 with a neutral offset. This means that the additional 1" is split between a negative and positive offset. In essence the wheel protrudes 1/2" in further in the well and 1/2" further off the fenders. If you go with a positve offset, that is to add additional width to the wheel on the outside, You run the risk of placing additional wear and strain on overything. I doubt very much you'd ever have a problem with the 16x8 wheels. :)

I have 12. 50x16. 5R - 33 tires on Eagle aluminum 9. 75x16. 5 rims and they do stick out more than I would like. They look cool, but throw slop up on the sides of the truck. With fender flares they would be fine, but I think I would prefer a rim with less offset so they don't stick out quite so far. A 4x4 shop I talked with said you can't get that size rim with less offset.

I looked at wheels this evening for my truck. Real nice ones for 105 a piece. I also am afraid of the off set. It looked they were neutral and would look real good but I can do without all the crud they would throw. Wash the truck and hit a puddle of water and dirty again. I am wondering if it would be worth it.

My 2001 set up

On my 01 the tire and wheel set up was, 16x8 rims factory positive offset which put even with fenders, and the 265-75R-16 tires. I have an auto with 3. 55 gears. I put on 16x8 rims 4" to 4" or 0 offset and 285-75R-16 tires. They are less then 1/2" taller and wider. The main thing I see is they are out from the fender about 1 1/2"s. Sure look real nice. Oh, I lost about 1 and 1/2 miles per hour at 65 on speedo.
