I'm thinking about upgrading injectors. I just added the EZ box. What would be the best bang for the buck? If this is repetitive point me to a thread that would have the info. TIA

<font color=blue>For a general idea here are some numbers... .
  • 275's + EZ = 265hp
  • DD I's + EZ = 280hp
  • DD II's + EZ = 300hp

Off a Mustang Dyno.

When you combine injectors with the EZ your driving style and load pulled will determine how long your stock clutch is going to last. Also you have the stock exhaust it appears so keep that in mind, in regards to EGT's might go up (depending on the load pulled again).

You did not say what you were going to use the power for sooooo, the more the merrier. If you are going to tow, go mild. The guys that tow and the guys that play have two totally different objectives.

John... go with the DDII's. I'm running them with an EZ in my '99 6spd. and love them! If you want most bang for the buck as you state, then that's the choice.

I,ve got to agree... I've got the EZ/II's and it seems to be a good thing... much more than that and you start producing higher EGT's... than your into a bigger turbo, bigger exhaust, ad infinitum... . The EZ/II's/disabled waistgate is a way good combo that is easy to live with... #ad

But then... some of us get used to that and want more. . MORE... MORE #ad

Samscov, injectors are really easy. You need basic hand tools and an inch pound torque wrench. Save yourself some skin though and get a 19mm deep 3/8" drive 12 point socket and cut 1/4 of it out all the way to the drive web. You can slip it over the lines and it makes it alot easier to get the injector lines tight. The socket will look like a tubing wrench if you cut it right.

When my truck was brand new (200 miles), with an EZ on it, I got a paltry 195 hp at the wheels on a Dynojet.

Now that I have the DD version of the EZ (I traded my Edge EZ for some DD3's) and the DD3's, and the HX-40, I'm expecting my rwhp to be around 350, maybe a little more.

Clutch... my stock clutch lasted less than THREE DAYS after installing the DD3's. I would expect you might get a full week out of yours with DD2's. Just don't be surprised when it starts slipping. And I wasn't even towing when mine started to go.

John:

Use the EZ and the DD-IIs. I think your clutch will be fine. I used to run a VA CPC with my DD-IIs and pulled very heavy all the time. No clutch problems until I piggy-backed a TST powermax on top of the VA. Adios clutch. You'll see some smoke at take off, but your EZ is adjustable to accomodate for this (move the internal jumper). Your mileage may actually go up, if you drive sanely. Just because you have extra horsepower in reserve doesn't mean you have to use it!!! #ad

It's only when you ask those ponies to come alive, will your mileage drop. But be forwarned: Once you've had the thrill of the power, you'll use it all the time... . My mileage has dropped when I drive the truck, but it goes up when my wife drives. Go figure.

I made a boo-boo when I posted last night... the 195 hp I mentioned was BEFORE the EZ... after, it was 225.
