JHardwick said:Yes it is, and covers medical (or veterinary) only on horses. I saved a bunch by having customers who are really concerned or who have high dollar horses sign a death waiver and buying their own "one time shipment" policy. It costs them $50 and saves me 10 times that. One of the biggest problems is in a death situation, when a $10,000. 00 horse becomes a $100,000. 00 horse if you know what I mean.

To add to my earlier post, is the ins. on the truck itself, set up for you to haul for hire? If it is personal use type of ins. , and you got in a wreck, they could tell you to take a hike.

bmoeller said:One exception would be when I had to pick up some hogs that were on a rig that laid over in a drainage ditch, kind of upside down. What a freaking mess. They loaded 190 head on their truck, and only 104 made it to the plant alive. Had a few dead ones, and they shot a few in the head at the plant because they couldn't walk off. The rest were in the other trailer, dead. Either from the heat or suffocation with the other hogs being forced on top of them.

Jack in Alaska said:I recently towed a 28' Airstream, new, travel trailer from Fife, Wash. to Anchorage, Alaska for a friend of my son.
I had a permission letter from the owner as well as a copy of his insurance covering the trailer. He gave me $1800 for doing it. He also provided a temp. lic. tag. I had to make a trip to Seattle anyway so it paid for my fuel. No problems crossing the us/Canada borders.
One way is 2490 miles. Info to consider... .....

coyote75 said:I know that you should have all the correct licenses and insurance, but what is the big deal with a little guy making a few bucks here and there with trucks that they own and make payments on. I haul here and there for a little extra cash, cattle, pipe, hay, and etc. I guess since I am not commercial I better quit hauling and making a little extra on the side.![]()

Even though I do not agree with the personel comments, I can understand why you are getting bi*ched at. There are many of us out here busting our butts to make a living and doing all legal like the DOT laws say. You coming on here and talking about all the money you make and how you are skirting the laws and costs that the we pay to be legal is like you are spitting in our face.
