Whatcha do for a living? humm.

Well at work, I sit in the so called "IT"
department. Mainly keep track of inventory
and the computer system. #ad

At home, I try to raise my kids so they can
grow up and work while I'm at home. #ad

At play, I live to stalk wild animals and
string a fish or 2. Sometimes chase a little
dippled ball around. #ad

What I really do for a living, is trying to
live and enjoy my life alive. #ad

Currently maintaining the telephone pbx's and voicemail systems for a large credit card processing company. I have been supporting Chrysler Corp. as a hobby for the last 8 years. (4 new trucks and a Concorde). Love camping, motorcycle touring, golf, Jesus, family, and the sound of my Cummins Diesel. (Can't decide in which order)

IBM dumped us so we were forced to retire. JER
took over and hired TCC to manage us. Now it looks like we are going to get dumped again and City Of Austin might take over(Better). Still do the same thing and draw very little retirement from IBM. CUP(central utility plant)operator. In the old days they called it a boiler room. Sell a little Amsoil(at my cost)on the side.

Hey Guys haven't seen this here yet.
Basically my job is trying to break stuff all day long as a mechanical/software test engineer and before that I was a carpenter and still do that on the side to pay for my toys. All you guys in the middle of the country have some cool jobs we here in the east (CT) never even thought about. I can't believe the diversity. I read where someone retired at 45 that's awesome, my goal is to retire at 50, got 16 more years to go !!

I seem to one of the few that drive my truck for a living. I'm leased to a trucking company and haul oil field supplies. I took my dually bed off and put a 10' flatbed on. I very seldom pull a trailer. I've hauled anything from 1 lb to 8500 lbs and have been running around 140,000 miles a year. Last month I ran 13,960 miles and averaged 17. 2 mpg overall.
Not much time for recreation!

32 years on engines (pumpers) trucks (aerial ladders) and a fireboat(tub)in Marina del Rey and now retired (12 years) and have escaped So. Cal to Color Country... Utah. Loved driving those big Cummins on our truck company with the "Jake" (when the engineer would swap seats with me).

Matt - You guys got any openings? I've worked in Aerospace where it's "Can't you make it lighter" & at some point I want to work in the heavy equipment industry (CAT, Deere, Liebherr, Volvo etc) so I can hear "Can't you make it heavier?"

Me? I'm a mechanical engineer working as a product manufacturing engineer. I'm responsible for the tooling, DFM & supplier selection/management of fabricated parts - sheetmetal, die cast, injection molded & compression molded parts parts.

I've done chassis design work on off road race trucks (SCORE Trophy Trucks & Class 4), heat exchanger design/project engineer, development engineer on HoneyWell parallon75 (small gas turbine powered 75kW generator)
