Chiropractor. Retired in 1995 after 20 years in practice. The kid has graduated college, I'm single, 47 years old, time to live the dream before heart disease, arthritis and senility kicks in. ("the golden years" are a myth) So... I sold everything purchased the below, (see sig) and took off to an unknown end. In the subsequent two years I wintered in South Texas and Palms Springs and summered in Alaska and Vancouver, BC. I have visited every National Park west of the Mississippi. In late 1997 I accepted a position on a cruise ship as an dance host. The job consisted of dancing with rich elderly, widowed, silver haired ladies from 8:00pm to midnight. Not too stimulating, I prefer women a bit closer to child bearing age. But. . the remainder of the time I was a regular passenger with a private cabin, free to play. If you happened to see the movie Out To Sea, you have a clearer understanding of the job description. In exchange, however, I received a small stipend and the opportunity to see the world. In the following two years I met many wonderful people while visiting over 150 ports of call in as many countries traveling over 300K nautical miles. Presently, I'm planning a third RV trip to Alaska.

MAN! What a diverse group. I've been with
IBM for 28 years 5 months. In 1 year 7 months 3 days the light at the end of the tunnel will be a LOT brighter.
I spent my entire career either fixing the hardware or pinpointing the software product that was failing for our customers. I am (by title) now a staff engineer on the automated tape and virtual tape products. My 30 years is going to seem like 30 weeks when it's over, I REALLY like what I do.
As someone else posted earlier, I believe we could design/install/repair just about ANYTHING with this group of people.
(Almost forgot, for fun I play with my PC's, ride BMW motorcycles and wrench on my truck)

Not enough skills for real job- full time lawyer- I sue Ford a lot and am only lawyer in the great Commonwealth of Virginia to drive a big honking diesel to work- my idea of a luxury car. Well now I am a Austin Energy employee. 1-1-02 TCC dumped us and AE picked us up. Doing the same thing,a little more money,hell of better benefits so I will stay awhile. Now I'm at the bottom of the list with AE-wifes been with them 28ys(Billing Manager now)son has been with them little over 5ys(A lineman now on the Transmission lines(high voltage stuff) and me about 7 mos. don't know(can't according to my wife) when to keep my mouth shut. i work 2 jobs right now... mon - fri, i do siding, windows and doors and other odds for a home renovation company [most of the work, ±70% is insurance repair] and satrudays i work for an electronics store installing hometheater and sound systems for people. .



i am currently looking for a job in the heavy equipment field, have had a few interviews with some bigger companies [toromont CAT and CN Rail are the main ones] but neither have yielded anything. at least i heard back from cat. not enough experience. . well duh, fresh out of school doesn't give you much work experience. no word from CN yet. .
