Does anyone follow the future in Robot technology?

Shop wall prep

This subject was hashed out last year sometime. I was going to bring it back up but it was already about 3 pages long, so I thought I'd start a new one. Especially with all the new faces recently joining the site.

As for myself. I'm an oil movements operator at a tanker unloading facility. Pump oil off the ships and pump it to the refinery so they can keep us in diesel fuel. Oh, and other stuff too.

Quite a bit different then what I "went to school for" which was diesel mechanics and I used to work for CAT in CO (Wagner Equipment Co) hence my user name..... #ad
But I have "grown up" with the railroad all my life so it kinda comes naturally..... I love it. <font size=-2>

Well, untill the end of March, 1997, I was a district manager for Arkla Reliant Energy, the natural gas company. Had about 50,000 customers, and 50 employees in my district. Responsibilities included; all safety, construction, customer accounting, personel, budget and PR issues. Loads of fun.

On the real fun side, I was in the lead position as we installed a fast fill public CNG station and converted my Concord to CNG, always wanted to add CNG to my Cummins, but didn't have the nerve. Now after a coupla years of the TDR, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Now, well, I took a buy out in 97, kinda retired at the age of 45, now I raise horse hay, two boys, play with the farm toys, and vehicles and work a coupla hours aday to make sure the stock market stays upright.

Kinda considering going back to work at the moment though. We'll see.

I'm a high frequency GaAs integrated circuit designer. I build amplifiers and stuff for LMDS and missles and other stuff. It's kind of cool, but I would prefer not to live in such a big town as Dallas, but since my options are limited, I'll just keep driving the big Dodge amongst all these crazy people for a while.
