There is a list a created a few years ago byTed Jannetty that is a good reference for upgrades.
Fuel pressure gauge should have come from the factor on these trucks.
An auto transmission upgrade is not cheap, but it takes a good custom transmission to stand up over the long run.
Ted made some statements that exhaust and intake in stock form is good to much higher HP.
An EGT gauge is a second highly recommended item.
The used EZ edge is the easiest way to improve the response of the go pedal, as I stated above. The best fuel mileage improvement to your right foot and how you use it. Most changes will not improve mileage that much, except maybe the Smarty at 650 or a new cam at much more. Best mileage will never we found in an auto transmission truck.
Adding goodies for more power and improved fuel mileage are not necessarily going to happen if one is having fun with new power.
I have a full DTT transmission, Magnaflow SS 4" exhaust, PDR35, 4" Branks Elbow/EB, Jammer 1's, and Comp in EZ. Does the truck get better mileage? Not really! Does it tow well at 20K combined weight? Yes! Got 11. 68 MPG for Washington to Arizona last week. Highest was 13 and lowest was 11.
Is the truck fun to bobtail around in? You bet, a tight torque converter and transmission completely changes how the truck drives.
Did it cost a lot of money? Yes
Was it wroth it? Don't ask that question of my DW!
