I like good micro brews we have some pretty good brewerys here in alaska. I just got back from Germany so there are quite a few beers that I had the opportunity to try.

Since 3-15-98 when I totaled my 95 out on a tree I do not drink no more. Only Dr Pepper Boy did I learn my lesson the hard way. With a name like Schultz I drank just about anything.

I dont drink much, but when I do I like a German brew. Hakker Pshor, Schpatten, Dinkel aker etc. (I think I spelled them right? )

I recently pulled a Corona from the back of the fridg. It was AT LEAST one year old. Didnt have any floaties, so I drank it.

I was just to my nephews wedding and relied on Long Island ice teas for the night. Theyre pretty good.

I am starting to think I like Irish stouts



If regular beers are on the menu I look for a Sam Adams Boston Lager or Ale, maybe a Michael Shays Irish Amber. If it is free I really don't care, I LOVE free beer.

FWIW: I had Guinness right at the brewery..... and the taste/quality was just like every other beer garden in Ireland.



In fact, I made a pilgrammage to the brewery... . it was the first thing we did when we got to Dublin... . and we walked all the way from the Temple Bar Hotel to the brewery. It was worth it.



The Guinness in the states is hit or miss..... they have to sell a lot of it... . the stuff that sits in the tap lines goes bad quick.

I agree with Matt, I visited Ireland a few years back and oh man the fresh brewed stuff is incredible! It looked like syrup coming out of the tap, it was great!! The Guiness and Harp and other Irish beers they import over here are nothing like the real thing.

Imported beer has to come a long way to get over here, rough travel, temperature variations, and time, all take their toll on the product. I was in Germany last month and was able to aquire some Pilsner Urquell that was only a week or two old It was awsome. Another beer to try if you can find it is a swartzbier (Black Beer) that goes by the name of Kolstrizer If you guys like stouts you will love this stuff It is a Very thick dark chewy Lager. I drank quite a bit over there while enjoying the local Brats and Sauerkraut.

I have not found any yet but I keep looking and hoping. There is a speciality beer store here in town and I have not had the opportunity to check him out yet.
