Thanks Ozy, I did look at that one. $249.00 is a much better price than the "Elevator". Here's the kicker, I'm thrifty (see cheap) and find it hard to spend $250.00 on a piece of equipment that I won't use but a time or two a year...BUT, safety is a huge factor in buying this type of product...would I really feel secure in using a China Freight knock-off (if one existed) for $100.00??? You get what you pay for, right? Thanks for all the replies folks.
Still on the fence,

I noticed the socket heads on the third gen trucks so I ordered some from Cummins. They are a bit short for the twelve valve rockers. Plus you have to remove the rockers and a few head bolts to install them. So I did not use them. But you are right, they would be a much better approach than the slot screw head. I use a 90* screw driver and box wrench back there. I also have ground downs a screw driver to fit the slot tightly so you can get some control of the sloppiness in the slot.

MLee...thank you, that is the type of input that the TDR is famous for. It will be another two years before I need to run the valves again but I want to be more prepared next time.

I don't know if there is a longer stud, I just requested the ones for the 3rd gen truck after conferring with the counter man. ( special order) Mike might be able to come up with other info if so inclined.
