Pretty basic problem here but I don't have a solution. I bought a set of mags/tires last winter to put on when the studed snow tires came off. They were real pretty - factory mags from a 2001? I think. anyway 265/75/R16
So today I went to do the deed. Problem - the bolts on my 92 250 are 1/2 inch with a 3/4 socket size, and it appears that the nuts I got with the rims are 9/16 with a 15/16 socket size. The bolts on mine would chew up the rims as their outer diameter is quite a bit smaller than the 01 bolts - and the 01 center caps clip onto the wheel nuts as well.
So I don't know where to go from here. I don't have the time over the summer to take the hubs apart and put in 9/16 studs, but that may be what I'll have to do.
Anyone know of any manufacturer that might make a large wheel nut with a 1/2 thread?
Anyone know how hard it is to change out the studs without a press?
I may just end up selling these and getting an aftermarket set to save the trouble. I have lots of ideas but no time
