The wheels I had on for the Alaskan trip were stock OEM polished aluminum wheels with 285/75/17 Toyo A/Ts.
The wheels I normally run are 17x9 XD Hoss by KMC. I've had over 9,000 lbs rear axle weight on these wheels (not smart) on multiple occasions and they've held up. I think they're stamped around 3,400 lbs each.
That being said, I would venture to say that a large part of a wheels rating factors in impact loads as a loaded tire hits a pothole, etc. The Carli 2. 65 suspension has undoubtedly allowed me to get away with more than I could have otherwise.
