After a new model is released, how long until parts such as programmers, turbos, fuel pumps, etc. become available? I'm torn between buying a 2007 5. 9 off the lot or ordering a new 6. 7. Rebates and savings may lead me toward the 2007 mega drw. Any opinions? Thanks, love the site.

The 6. 7's will be a challenge no doubt... ... ... . You can bet the work has been started some time ago. The extra cubes will no doubt add some potential, but it may be some time before there are many products that don't trip codes.

I would get the 6. 7, it wont be long before there are after market upgrades and the truck you buy with the 6. 7 & 6 spd auto will be a lot better.

I would get the 2007 5. 9 it will have less emission stuff to worry about.

I never would have bought the CTD I now have if I practiced

that type of mentality because it was the first of the HPCR injection CTD and has been awesome, I wonder how many CTD owners bought the 305 HO to avoid the new technoligy before mine and all they got was a lessor HP same durability. I have no crystal ball, but I bet my new C&C will be just as awesome.

I agree 100%. Not woried about it at all. Remember when the 24V came out?:-laf

what I meant to say was... you might have difficulties upgrading anything related to power because of emission laws.

Dave;)

well, they would be 50 state legal without a catalytic converter and get better mileage ;)

Well, I think for anything worth a flip it is going to be a while. Lots of testing is going to be needed to make sure the parts perform without destroying emmissions equipment.

It will happen, power has been made but, not a lot and not refined.

My personaly opinion right at this moment is that the programmers are going to have a difficult time if they make much power. Too many things that will freak out without some sort of plug in device to block the ECM from seeing the rest of the story!
