Where are these super low prices on new Cummins?

What's with these ridiculously low prices I'm hearing about? I ran into a lady who bought a new quad cab 3/4 ton 4x4 Cummins for $28,000. And on the happy camper website, someone just bought a new dually quad cab 4x4 Cummins with leather for $23,000 American in Canada! Where are these deals in the vicinity of Fargo? I'll tell my brother to cancel his Duramax order and get a Dodge, noise and all!

They are most likely 2001's with rebates. I just bought a new 2001. 5 as noted below for $30,000. 00 after $2,300. 00 in rebates/discounts.

Can anyone predict what 2002 truck prices will be llike later this winter or spring if the US goes into a recession??? Will the prices be dirt cheap as auto makers try and sell vehicles or will they be sky high as an attempt to try and recoup from low sales???

http://www.davesmithmotors.com is the largest dodge dealer in the us? i know they had some quadcab auto's for 26k. they are a no haggle dealer. and i've heard they are bomb friendly.

I purchased my CTD from Dave Smith almost a year and a half ago, was very pleased with the price and process. Painless. I will probably purchase my next CTD from Dave Smith Motors as well. I'm in NJ. I'll drive to get a great deal, but Oklahoma and Idaho are a little far.

I don’t disagree with you. NJ can be quite a drive from either Idaho or Oklahoma. I know Dave Smith offers a shuttle from the Spokane Intl. Airport (about an hour drive to Kellogg, ID) at no charge. Not sure if Mark Roberts offers any shuttle. That’s part of the process in figuring out if the “low margin” dealers are actually a good deal, cost of air travel, fuel home, hotels if necessary, days off, meals, etc. For me, it worked out to be a huge savings, including the one way flight from Seattle to Spokane. Dave Smith also fills up your tank before you leave…. so, fuel, depending on your distance home may not be a factor. Enough ramblings, but you have to research all the costs. To answer your other question, I don’t know of any similar dealers in the east. Good luck, -Ken

Configure the truck you want on www.carsdirect.com and then take it print out to any dealer and tell them that is what you will pay. You will have close to best deal available. SNOKING

Dave Smith in Kellog, ID has several Hot Shot haulers who contract to them. They will deliver anywhere and can & will make the deal on The phone. I bought mine from them and know several people in a 5 state radius who have bought theirs there also. Great people & yes they do in house Bombing also!

Mark Roberts will arrange to have you picked up at Tulsa International Airport for $25. 00, it is about 45 minutes from the airport. In my case a local TDR member, thanks Dave, picked me up at the airport and drove me to the dealer.



They are a no BS dealership, painless to deal with and good customer service.

Vehicle Delivery

I thought I read on a very old post about a guy who ordered his Ram from Mark Roberts and they had it delivered to a his local dealer for a small fee. I can't find the original post but it might be worth a call to find out if one dealer can deliver to another.

Try www.meltonsales.com, a friend purchased a new 2001 Cummins QC 4x4 every option but leather for 29,700. They list the trucks and prices on the web site with some pictures. I would not boast about Melton except that I did a favor for my freind and flew to Tulsa OK, picked it up and drove back to Phoenix for him. They picked me up from the airport and I was only at the dealer for about 15 minutes before I had the key and was pulling out of the lot.

You do not have to travel to get a great deal!!!!!! If your local dealer won't deal then find the deal you want and order the truck. You can then have the truck delivered to the local dealer, that would not deal with you , on a "Courtesy Delivery". The folks at Bossier Country do it all the time for TDR members. 1 800 BOSSIER ask for Deanna. Tell "Giggles" I sent you and you are a TDR member. She will fax you the invoice. Then drop ship your new truck to the local dealer near you. Cost for the courtesy delivery runs between $150 and $300. Generally cheaper than you can go get the truck.

when my buddy paid mid 30's for his loaded dually , I thought to myself not good for my resale value. .

I bought in '99 when these things were flying off the lot and such great deals werent found, which kept the resale values high.

Now with these prices that you guys are talking about...

there's a really big hit to the resale value.

Speaking of BS, the Chebby dealer across the street had a '97 2x4 CTD, wanted $25k for it. That was a good one

Scott, I've hear that DC has said that they have about 10K or somewhat more of profit on the sticker prices on the trucks and SUVs. .

I know the price my buddy paid,,, just over the mid 30's which is just about all the "profit" gone from the sticker. . so shocking as that price was... to hear 23K !!.

And I hope it's not the resale value of my truck burning up.

Going the internet sales inquiry route through DC's http://www.4adodge.com website, I got a deal from a local dealer that was within $30 of Chaprell Dodge in Ada, OK (both were based on factory orders to my spec). For that difference, I couldn't fly up there and drive back!
