I also heard that Ford was to replace the 6. oh in 07, but the 6. 4 wasn't a Cat, it was a punched out version of the current PSD. Cat has said before that they have no interest in the light truck market. That would be interesting to see some yellow under the Super Duty hood, but I don't see it happening anytime soon. I learned long ago to take the dealers comments on future projects with a grain of salt, and I am all for having the service techs part time as salemen, as they are the only ones who know what they are talking about. I also read the unfortunate posting from the Diesel Stop about sales volume versus problem stats posted there. :-laf At least on of them was on the right track. They never will learn though, V-8's will never out lug an in-line 6. How many semis have you seen with 8's? Not many. And how many tractors have you seen with 8's? All the major companies tried them, Allis-Chalmers used the Cummins VT-555 in their 440 Articulated and it was pretty dismal. Deere, IH, Ford, Massey Ferguson, Stieger, And White all tried them and all went back to the in-line 6. Some people never learn. Sorry the post is so long, just had to say that! :-laf
