How many times have you had to add fluid?

Do you check it when you don’t get a code?

Since you’re not seeing any evidence of a leak I’d probably drop pan and inspect everything to make sure you don’t have an issue and the fluid is still in the trans but not flowing correctly.
In approx. 32000 miles I have added 2 quarts. I do check it when no codes are in and its fine i do not check it every time I drive it but when i do it is at right level. I found an 68RFE oil level curve chart on another forum and also a magazine article from Gears magazine May/June 2010 issue that talks about the 68RFE and how to properly check oil level. Apparently the oil level is very dependent on heat. It has to be at full operating temp to get proper level. I have attached a copy of the oil level curve I found.

Was not talking internal, I brought this up as I recall some FCA transmissions have a vacuum line to an external module and was not sure if the 68 has one...

Na, the days of vacuum controlled transmissions are long gone.
The 68 and all its siblings are fully computerized, electronically controlled transmissions.

Yes temp is very important, which is why the owners manual states a temp range to check it in.
