Anybody know of a place in Texas where a guy can take a trailer and buy full-size logs like they take to a sawmill? I want to build an original style blacksmith shop and finding timbers for beams is proving more challenging than I expected. Best I have come up with locally is used telephone poles and they were in pretty harsh condition. Haven't had much luck searching in phone books and Internet for logs, poles, etc.

I dont know if there are any around where you are but there are log brokers out there for the log home industry. You might try searching under log homes on the net and look for the do it yourself places. You might also try looking for some log home magazines. Several years ago I was researching building a log home and remember running across places where you could buy just logs during that research.
