Now that I have the crew apart I am looking for the vin to see what the original truck was. When it was converted at the conversion place, they swapped the dash, fender tag, and took off the door jam sticker from the diesel donor truck. Where can I look to see what the crew was? I know on the 60's cars they had the Vin number stamped in many places. Where to look on this one?

Also, is the vin stamped intop the block? I pulled the motor out and I cant find one. The reason I ask is that the data plate that is riveted on had been removed before I bought it  . Thanks

look for a broadcast sheet under the seats or a metal tag, maybe the core support. I didn't think VIN# could be swapped by anyone legally, Old Dodge trucks are easy to re-tag because of the door mounted plate but I never thought it was 100% kosher.

Yeah, I did not think it was legal either. There is no broadcast sheet (seats where swapped) I will have to check the support and frame. Do you know on the frame roughly where. There is a lot of frame there to look for a tiny number! Thanks!
