Where to tap for twelve volts ignition on

Installing a Viair on board air system Everything is in but I need to pick up a 12 volt power source for the compressor relay. Is there any where under the dash I can pick up the power with ignition on or would I be better off going back out under the hood to the power center? Again, this is only powering the relay, power for the compressor is coming straight off the battery.

I used a fuse splitter thing I found at Autozone. I think I used the seatbelt buzzer fuse.

When was wiring gauges in my truck, I daisy changed them to the cigarette lighter for a key on power source. .

Many TDR members use a small auxilliary fuse panel sold by Genos. I can't think of the name of the panel this early in the morning while my coffee is still percolating.

Painless Wiring is the brand.



To power a relay the cigarette lighter socket will work fine as a key on source.



If you are going to add anything else above and beyond the compressor you will have better results by adding a Painless fuse and relay block.

Thanks all, only thing I'm powering is the relay and the light for the guage. The load for the compressor is fused and coming straight off the battery.

I used the cigarette lighter too for the relay.

Put a 5 Gallon Tank under the Passenger side of the Bed.
