OK- I'm all screwed up here..... but I can't figure out which rear end I have. No not that kind of rear end, wife tells me about that one;) . It's a 96' with the 4:10 limited slip. I thought it was a Dana 80. I didn't see it stamped anywhere, so now I'm not sure.

The 2500's have Dana 70 in the auto's and Dana 80's in the sticks. The 3500's have Dana 80 in both the auto and sticks. At least in the new models that's the way it is, not sure about the older models.

I was told that the 2500 autos were 70's if it was a regular cab and 80 on quad cabs. At least on 2001. Was the guy wet behind the ears?

According to Geno's web site its a Dana 70. Although there seems to be some controversey so now I'm more confuse:confused: ;) .

It's stamped on the front of the axle,drivers side,top half of the pig,but unless someone did a swap,if it's a auto 2500 it's a 70.

ALL 3500's come with Dana 80's.

2500 Stick - Dana 80.

2500 Automatic - Dana 70.

Dkevdog, you should have a Dana 70. It is also cast into the front of the case, upside down on the right upper half in large text as I recall.

All 2500's and 3500's have a Dana 60 front unless it has been changed. (Very unlikely!) One member bought a rebuilt wreck where the rebuilder used a Dana 44!

Found the stamp. Wasn't looking in the right place:rolleyes:. It's a Dana 75 !!!Must be a hybrid or somerthing!! Just kidding:-laf . It be a 70!

Thanks!:D
