Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Which torque converter?

I am having a transmission built buy Goerend Transmission and am wondering what torque converter to go with. The truck will not be over 600 horse for quite some time but will be drag raced and sled pulled. This in not a daily driver just a toy so what TC should I go with? The builder was made aware of what is going to be done with this truck so the transmission will be able to hold it. Thank in advance for the help.

well as long as the trans is a goerend i would go with a goerend triple disk converter.

I am very happy with my ATS 5 star (five disk) converter. Like stated above, since you're going with a Goerend transmission, I would stick with their converter. I have no personal experience with them, but have heard good things.

Give Dave or Craig at Goerends a call and tell them what you want to do. They'll shoot you straight. I like mine.



A friend of mine recently put a DPC (Diesel Performance Convertors) in his. He's very pleased with it. He's always run Georend's.

I just rebuilt my trans a few weeks a go and went with the Georend parts. trans works great... there products are fairly priced and they will make sure the parts are matched to your use of the truck, A+ shop, !
