I'm heading to Reno next week, and have a choice of tires.
My daily drivers are Toyo A/T Open Country 285/70/17. These are great, and have about half the tread left.
My others are Toyo M/T Open Country 35/12. 5/18. These I typically use just for the desert and off road. They have almost all the tread left.
The trip is going to be I-80 from San Francisco to Reno. I don't anticipate any problems or departures from the road.
I'm thinking that the M/T's have a lot more tread in case of snow, but have never driven them in the cold. Any feedback? Thanks
