119,000 mi. on my 95 ext. cab 4x4. After reading posts on here about trouble with track bars I thought I better check mine. WORN OUT. Which replacement is the best for a stock truck.
Thanks,KEN

Ken,IMHO any bar that has a lifetime warrenty is good because you will have to replace it again and again and the install is a piece of cake. I used a NAPA bar($169)and have replaced it once,no problem, and you can get it in one day. It looks exactly like the stock bar, most likely the same manufactor. My local NAPA couldn't find the part # so I went to napaonline.com to get the number.

I agree. I used the NAPA, it was an exact match with the stock one and went in with little trouble.

I've heard about an adjustable track bar that people seem to be happy with. Don't know the brand or price, just that the adjustable bar seems like a good way to go. Check the archives, it was on this site where I learned about it.

I'd go for the adjustable one, but buy the rebuilt version unless you are a capable fabricator and skilled welder. (it bolts in just like the stocker, but they did the work.
When I cut the old bar apart, it was obvious why it failed. The plastic cup fails and the result is excess clearance.
If you buy the NAPA unit, it will fail but as the guys above pointed out, it's warranted. I read on another thread recently that NAPA disontinued the warrantee on this part. You might want to double check on that if you go that route.

Thanks for all your input. I guess I'll use the NAPA part. The local NAPA is 4 miles away but the local owner is an old grouch. Taking warrentied parts back to him should be a real pleasure. Thanks agian. KEN

I put in a Moog track arm when mine went. They have a lifetime warrantty and the wearing end is larger than the stock one I took off.
