Question for all you undervalved guys :p (just kidding, if I had my way, I'd have one of each).

Well the question is - I have 2 guys that I know that have 12 valve trucks, 1st is a 94 2500 4X4 auto (newly rebuilt transmission, but nothing upgraded, very little towing) and the 2nd is a 98 3500 4X4 5-speed (frequent towing). Both want to upgrade, but without any transmission mod's. After researching the TST plates, I'm thinking a #6 for the 94 auto and a #11 for the 98 5-speed. What do you guys think? Should I recommend milder plates to either? Both?

They will both also be getting the AFC spring kit.

Any other recommendations?

TIA,

TXRam:

I'd suggest having THEM call TST or Ted Jannetty for the plate and upgrade recommends.

Then they can get the real info, decide and carry on in the tradition of the 12 valve powerhouses.

Give them the link addresses!!!

TXRAM,

If the 98 uses the 12, 11, 10 series, I'd have to agree with the #11. He needs to watch EGT. Low RPM & fuel, you know the rest. I ran my #11 plate all the way forward with the stock AFC spring. Great low end & top end. :)

Thanks for the great help Frank:rolleyes: . I never thought of that.

I guess since we can get all of our questions answered by the vendors, we can just do away with the TDR site.

I/they know what the vendors recommend - just wanted to hear from people that had put plates in an otherwise stock truck and what "seat-of-the-pants" increases were and and any other general opinions/observations.

TXRam I got 12 and 24 and read my signature-I've been through most of the TST plates in my 12 valve. The problem with the plates is it doesn't take to much for both auto and clutch jobs to start spinning. The recommendation that they call TST direct is a good one. They won't steer your friends wrong and they have a great trade in program. :D
