2006 - Check Engine at 1200 miles

Block 53 crack problem question;fix?

I want to upgrade the stock turbo.

I have the PMCR, and an EZ. I have a open exaust. Stock injectors.

What would be a good upgrade turbo. I want to do street performance type of driving, no sledding, or heavy towing. I am afraid of the stocker coming apart when the pmcr is above level4.

I want some advice/opinions as I want to buy next week.

Super 62

I agree with you, it works great if you tow too! Oo.

Yeah, what they said... I haven't gone over 900 degree's with mine, haven't towed with it and only have the BBDL set on 90 hp, but FLOORED to 110 mph 45 lbs of boost never gone over 900, which in my book is great! I do have the ATS exhaust and Acrh Flow manifolds too, so I know they help too...

The SPS turbos work excellent. The 66 or Silver Bullet are going to be your best bet if you plan on going big though. If not, stay with the 62 or 64. Other options to consider are the ATS Aurora 2000 or 5000. The A2k is small, but it will amaze you.

I would suggest the super phat shaft 62 from www.industrialinjection.com

This turbo has been a good fit for these trucks.

Got my vote for the sps62... good spool up and will take up to 550hp just in case you decide you want more... . and we all know that happens :-laf . I have had great luck with mine and tow about 6k regularly. II is a great company and they back their products 100%

Oo. anything from industrial injection is the best that money can buy, with compleat, knowledgeable, and friendly customer service you cant go wrong. those that have bought I. I. turbos from me have had nothing but good things to say about industrial, and i agree.

I called Industrial Injection this AM, THey said the turbo guy was in a meeting with UPS. I gave him my # and he was going to call me back. He hasn't called me yet.

You guys are reccommending the SPS62, I was considering the next one up. . What is the difference in lag between the 2?

you have a pm Oo.

If you are being honest with yourself and us about not wanting to go real big, then I would say get the 62 not the 66. I am perfectly happy with the 66 (well not really I want twins) but it IS laggier than stock. Sure, from about 12psi up to 40+psi the 66 has VERY quick spool, but getting to 12 takes noticably longer than the stock turbo. I only find it irritating in stop and go traffic when you want a quick blast to change lanes or put some smoke on a punk in a ricer.

I haven't personally driven the 62 but common sense and a jillion posts say the 62 spools faster than the 66 with less barking and no surge while towing.

Remember he has a 6 speed and you have an auto.

I have never experienced ANY surging with the SPS66 on my truck.

I believe the HTTB2 is very much the same as the SPS62. It comes in 62 and 64 flavors and maybe in 66 as well.

Any thoughts? I'm eyeing one of these or the SPS myself.

Has anyone herd anything about the super B special ??? Is it a comparable size to the SPS62??? I was going to wait for it to come out but I can't wait any longer . I will probably go with the SPS62 also. Is anyone running a SPS62 with 600 + HPs???

I went from stock to HTB2 62/12, HTB2 62/14, SPS 66, and now currently running SPS 62 since I wasn't happy with the 66 surging empty or towing. In addition the 66 gave poorer mileage in town than a 62 due to running around on low boost and smoking everyone out. The SPS 62 spools a hair slower than an HTB2 62/14 based on my data collection, but offers better (lower) drive pressures than a regular HTB2 62/14 and gave my fuel mileage back. It was also great for towing.

I totally love the SPS 62, but I just got a heck of a deal on a twin set that I just could not pass up!

I think you'd have to be real careful pushing 600+ with a 62. I've heard that II's new silver bullet turbo can take over 700hp and very driveable. It's amazing what you can push with a single charger these days

Donaldson mufflers

Anyone ever used a Donaldson muffler?... I just had my Banks Monster replaced by a Donaldson & I wish I had had it dynoed prior to & again after so I knew just how much HP & torque difference there is, but the butt meter says it's a lot... She spools wayyyy faster, seems to use less boost than before, on specific grades that I drive every day... The fuel pressure has gone up by 2 psi (indicating better fuel economy) & when I checked the mileage I'm up to 25. 7 (that's an increase of . 7 mpg) That's with the cruise set @55 & the tank filled to the same place each time & mileage calculated by hand.

I have an 01 quad/short HO 6 speed with Banks Big Hoss/intake/K&N drop in/4" turbo body. 4" stainless/Donaldson/boost/pyro/oil temp/fuel pressure

Industrial injection

They still have not returned my calls. Are they out of turbos right now?

Who on here is a "dealer" of turbos, that has one in stock and can hook me up?
