White Lightning gets a new fan clutch......

I encountered an issue with my fan clutch beginning last Friday. Seems as if it wanted to stay engaged at what appeared to be 100%, based on the roaring noise while at idle and going down the road. This morning it was at 100% for a solid 20 miles on a cold engine......In any event, I decided a fan clutch would be more cost effective than a fan clutch + fan shroud + fan blade + radiator combo if the failing fan clutch caused my venerable 6.7L Cummins to ingest the fan shroud.

I’m currently at Don Franklin RAM in Somerset, Ky waiting like the Model Customer I am. These guys are great to me. Called Saturday and the part was in stock. Nathan, my Service Writer, said he’d squeeze me in today, as he knows White Lightning is my bread and butter.

At 408k miles......I guess I can’t really complain.

I agree; it basically owes me nothing. Plenty of 2,500 to 2,700 rpm pulls well over 217°F at full engagement. As stated previously......it’s better than than buying the Full Meal Deal with all of the extras!

Dirt Cheap IMHO as many a shop would bend you over and not even offer LUBE.

After reading several sub-par reviews in regards to a few aftermarket manufacturers of fan clutches—-I decided White Lightning would be the recipient of a MoPar unit.

You made the right choice Mopar unit only most of after market don't hold up, I know from experience.
