My buddy wanted me to ask about his trk smoking white smoke until it warms up. He said it quit after it ran a few minutes and started getting warm. He changed the injectors but it didn't help. He also said that the aneroid(thats what he called it,I don't know if I spelled it right was the air/fuel mixture screw) and it had to be backed all the way off or there was a hard spot in the accelerator. He thinks there is something wrong in the fuel pump. Any body have any idea what might be the problem. Any suggestions or input would be appreciated. Thanks,Kelly. PS- His trk is a 95 model- dually 2 wheel drive, 5 speed trans.

Some white smoke at start up when it's cold outside is normal. White smoke can also be a sign of retarded timing. I'm not sure what he's talking about with the "aneroid". I'd guess he is thinking of the star wheel on the AFC. Adjusting that controls how much spring pressure the governor lever sees before the boost moves the lever forward. Toward the back of teh truck requires more boost pressure to overcome the afc spring pressure and thus add fuel. Anytime you get a hard spot in the pedal, I'd look at the throttle cable (just in case) as these trucks are known for fraying cables. Getting rid of the white smoke is easy... Big fuel plate, big injectors, big delivery valves... Then the only smoke he'll get is black! :-laf
