Competition Who Exactly Is Edge Fooling?

Attention: TDR Forum Junkies
To the point: Click this link and check out the Front Page News story(ies) where we are tracking the introduction of the 2025 Ram HD trucks.

Thanks, TDR Staff

Competition arb 70 locker converted to fit a Dana 60?

Competition Max Duration for high EGTs?

But another thing- I remember an issue of D. P. that had a page dedicated to Scott with a little write up and even a little blurb about Greg and the Dr. P truck being the qwickest in the same danged issue? .....

Don't remember the article you mention, but I know Dr. P has an ad in the back of all the magazines which mentions his truck and the record also.

I suppose that its just the way magazines and newspapers are, it could be as simple as Edge pays them more than what ATS or Dr. P does. We'll probably never know the reasoning behind it for sure. If it were me, it would just be another motivational driver that I would use to prove to the world that I am the fastest.

Hmmm. I wonder how much the bill is to publically:( publish lies and false advertising?:-laf :-laf

You all know where my issue of D. P. is going... ... ... ... :-laf :-laf :-laf Yup- the porcelian palace.

Another thing that probably gets them alot of press is because of the looks of the race vehicle. Have any of you see it up close. It is probably the nicest race vehicle that I have ever seen. They would probably get more press at an NHRA even than any other vehicle just because of the quality of it. Every detail is perfect. Unfortunately it's pretty heavy, but it's a beautiful advertising piece. And from the press it's getting obviously it's worth every penny. Look even you guys are making people that don't know edge now learn there name. Remember magazines like publishing things that look cool to the average person. This is the nicest Diesel Race vehicle in my opinion, and remember to the average person a 7-8 second race vehicle isn't very fast, we have 2. When your out to impress the world looks and quality of a vehicle are very important, obviously going fast is important as well and I guess we will all see how fast it will go when it goes. Remember Comp is the fastest race truck right now and gets no credit, so what would edge gain by coming on here anyway.

Keep in mind I am biased I have seen this truck and know how nice it is.

but consider this... maybe its not all lies and false advertising, maybe they did prove to the magazine what they needed to in order for the magazine to write what they did... just a thought to consider.

The self proclaimed "fastest truck" has never provided anything other than a single time slip, maybe Edge provided just the same to the magazine which, in my opinion, would give them the same rights that Greg has.

The bottom line to all of these posts surrounding all these trucks, is that we're not going to know who is truely the fastest till they all show up at the same track. The only one that is advertising any attempts to run is Keating, which puts him at the top of my list for now. Maybe the rest are testing and choose not to discuss it in public, maybe there not doing anything at all and there just talking like they are, who knows, but in todays world talk gets you jack. The only one who is producing results is Keating. No offense to Eric or Scott cause I am am talking strictly trucks here, not about the rails.

I wish all three trucks the best of luck, and I also extend that to those that are coming out next year.

I'm able to see each sides point of view in this discussion.

Keating is out there pushing to go faster and faster they have gone.

I'll be the first one to congratulate them on a job extremely well done.

Edge has not made a peep to the hard-core diesel community in quite some time and the program seems about half dormant. Maybe they're just playing opossum (although very doubtful). The truck is too heavy and was built wrong for what it was supposed to accomplish. Edge definitely has they're PR team working overtime.

As much as some you may cringe to hear (or read as it may be) this Greg and the Dr. P ride are still the fastest.

Keating has an excellent chance to catch his current record, and may do so before Greg gets back running. But, as of right now Greg's ride is in the lead.

06 will be very interesting to see.

I would put up $1000 on behalf of SMDiesel for a shootout between the Wolverine, Keating Machine, and Hogue (the Dr. P ride) just so I could see them all run at the same event.

I would like to see it happen at a major NHRA event.

This is for multiple reasons.

1. Maximum exposure to the motorsports community

2. Better Track Prep

3. We'd sure as he77 have video that no one could dispute.

Later,

Hmm this is interesting.

I don't know one way or the other.

I have met Scott and, hey Scott, lemme know sometime when your goin to run that thing. I'd love to come watch :-laf

I don't know who's the fastest truck. I don't know how fast the Edge truck is.

To tell you the truth, I don't even care to know how fast that thing will ever be.

What I know is the fact that Edge builds ELECTRONICS chips for diesel trucks.

Then they build a truck without electronics on the engine... Go figure!

Even if it becomes faster than a Space Shuttle, it's pointless because the lack

of electronics chips in it. In my mind it's a loose-loose thing for Edge.

Excellent marketing point. Edge has the finest advertising tool and billboard out there, perfect and well built. 99% of the people that see it only understand that it is a diesel, but do not know enough to understand the difference between a mechanical and a electronic engine. To them "Who Cares?. "

Many people asked about whey we went with a 24V in the dragster when a 12V would be easier. I felt that the visibility of the engine made it mandatory to have the latest version of our engine in order to use it for marketing our later products.

Many of you may not know that we started with a VP44, and had sime luck with it, but went back to the P pump for brute simplicity.

Here is a photo of the old car, with the VP:

I like the fuel pump 2 ft away from the pump!

I'm glad to see you guys go to a P-Pump, Water Injection and now the new Twins..... keep it up!

Yep, that photo was from 1999 and 2000. Forgot how long ago we started this.

I don't conisder what you claimed to have done drag racing a Diesel. Ya had enough Nitrous and alternate fuels in it to be a gasser.

Try it on #2, thats Diesel fuel, you find it at truck stops.

I reckon you have a distributor hid in the oil pan, casue you don't know how to combust fuel without a spark.
