I have the Mickey Thompson/Alcoa
(M/T Alcoa) forged aluminum Challenger wheels on my Ram (five slots). Earthroamer has M/T Alcoa forged aluminum Classic wheels (eight holes) on his Ram. Both are
VERY strong with an impeccable record. Although these wheels do not have a clear coat protective finish, it is not all that hard to preserve the bright mirrored finish. Additionally, these wheels have aluminum center caps which will not rust like the chrome plated steel ones.
Another excellent choice in wheels are the Weld Racing wheels. These are very strong wheels offered in a multitude of styles, offering something that should appeal to everyone (SSII, Outback, Typhoon, Roadhawk, and my favorite, the Scorpio V, plus they also added a new style which I can't remember off the top of my head).
Although the chrome plated aluminum wheels look great when you purchase them (and are pretty easy in the maintenance department), errant rocks can chip the harder chrome, leading to pealing.
..... even though I love chrome, I prefer to keep mine in the engine compartment out of harms way.
