My early 91 has 263K; the truck I traded it for passed 250K about three months ago. I've replaced the turbo (no pyrometer, hot shutdowns), head gasket (common for 89-90s), starter, alternator, power steering and vacuum pump assembly, and had the rear end bearings replaced and new carrier put in. Gears were still good. It was a hot shot for 200K, pulling a 40' G-N hauling tractors all over. It needs injectors, and the head has cracks between every injecotr hole and intake valve seat. I unwittingly ran it 10K with the head gasket blown- found out what it was by reading about the noise in N14 engines- thought it was just something minor and annoying. With one injector stuck open (ok, it pops at something like 500psi- may as well be stuck open), and the others about 400 psi low, it still gets 18-19 mpg locally; 20 hwy. Rides better than Mom's 92 D350 with 30K less. I almost bought a 97 a few years ago with 280K, but the bank said it had too many miles and it wouldnt last the life of the 4 year loan I wanted.
They still refused me when I offered to get it inspected at a shop to see what kind of shape it was in.
