I don't know who's better than who here... ... But this could get ugly(transmission war)..... I think everyone has there own preference... ... . I know alot more people with DTT though than anything else... . Just my . 02

Well, if you only plan on a TC & VB then you probably only have one choice of the two as Bill won't sell you that only. He has an article stating WHY he chooses NOT to sell just what you want to do... . Here's a link if your interested.

Good point because I had the same problem when I tried to do business with DTT, they woudnt sell me what I wanted. I understand where Bill is coming from but when they tell me (From another country over the phone) my transmission is wore out at 32K miles and it needs to be updated, thats when I called suncoast and was treated amazingly well! Plus I can think of a few 10 second trucks that run suncoast trannies.

There are alot of great transmission companies out there and they all have their ups and downs. Just make phone calls and gather info and do business with the big names (Suncoast, DTT, ATS, Goenrands, NADP) who take care of you the best.

BTW, I sold that 01 to a buddy at 52K who drives it pretty hard and it now has around 140K with a suncoast TC and VB with about 400 +- HP. Nothing special but worth saying.

All I can say is I have seriously put DTT to the test and not one break in 2 years - knock on wood. Watch the video in my sig and you'll see what I put it through every chance I get.

Like the others said, do your research. I called Goerends, ATS, Suncoast, and DTT. The Suncoast guys were really great over the phone, really liked them, but their local installer wouldn't return a call, ATS seemed like Banks to me - more sales and less substance. Dave was great but too far away. DTT fit the bill for me - I agreed with Bill's philosophy and went full DTT rebuild with the billet input. OBTW, the double-deep Mag Hytec transmission looks sweet too.

I too agree with MattyMac, talking to DTT about trannies he told me some information about the cases, I told him he was wrong, he said that I didn't know what I was talking about, when I told him how I knew, he changed his tune and started jumbling about the pumps. He was correct on the pumps. But I didn't feel comfortable paying $5k for a guy that had a track record with me of being 50% right. DTT makes a great product, but after talking to Dave Goerend. He had my business. 2 Trannies with Goerend VB and TC. One has over 40K on it, sledpulling for the last 1. 5 years, broken 2 dana 80 axles, 1 dana 80 pinion yoke. transmission 2 i have broken 2 front driveshafts, twisted the rear drivshaft, broke the spider gears. Both trannies have had vzero mechanical problems.

Dave is far away, but his product and warranty is great. He may be hard to get ahold of, but price added to warranty added to product was the perfect equation for me.

I just dropped my transmission of to Dave (Goerends) this afternoon, I choose them because for one, he is about 45 minutes from my house and I know that if I ever have any problems or concerns (for years to come) Dave will do what ever he can to make it right.

Exactly! I chose DTT based on info I received here & on the NWB. I also chose DTT based on the fact that I'm less than 2 hours from DTT's home office in BC. Chose a shop you feel good about & that is most convenient. I'm at 3. 5 years on my DTT & coming up on 100k trouble-free miles!

i would use only one of these, goerends, suncoast,or NADP. i will only sell and use these known names, the reliability is the biggest factor to most people, and there ability to make fast trucks. Oo.

I went with DTT when the only other choice was BD. Now with all the choices, I would still go for DTT. Bill is a standup guy and makes one heck of a transmission.

He would've shipped one to your local installer to put in. That shouldn't have been much of an issue.

Dave is only a few hours from me, and I had them put it in for me as well. I could've done it, but time was an issue. His guys are much faster, and are setup better than I am for that job.

VERY happy with mine. Dave is an excellent choice.
