Who makes the best windshield wiper?

Anco, Michelin, Bosch, Trico, etc are all ones I have seen.



Best so far was the Bosch, but they didn't last more than 7-8 months. I usually change wipers every 6mo or so.



Rain-x wipers any good?



The Bosch wipers are also very $$!!



Anyone else looking for a decent wiper??

I have purchased wipers that have teflon blades that are guaranteed for life. They cost around fifteen dollars each, but, have lastest a couple years already. I can't remember who made them, if it was Rain-x or other, but they have held up well. I would buy them again, no problem. Hope it helps. Bo

I ran a set of Piaa silicones for 18months still worked great when I sold the truck. The only problem I had is that they did not take the juiced bugs of on their own, to slick I guess?

PIAA. They are just sweet! Hold an edge long after others quit, and I find that I can go and fire up the defroster and get that window nice and hot and flick em on and it seems that they even get off that oily rainbow stuff off too.

I put on some michelins from wal-mart cause i was tired of her ruining the boschs with the ice. so far working pretty well.

I have been running the Bosch wipers for a few years now and like them. When I couldn’t find any Bosch refills, I tried some Rain-X wipers a couple of months ago. They seem to be doing Ok so far. Has anyone been able to find Bosch refills? Having to purchase the entire blade can get a little spendy.

I've had pair of PIAA's Super Silicone wiper blades since I got the truck, got them from tirerack.com and love them. They are about $20. 00 dollars a piece, but just like they advertise; they don't sqeek, shutter or anything and it rains a lot here in NC, so they have really been put through the gauntlet. The way I look at it is, they may cost $20. 00 dallors a piece, but when I'm runnin down the road and have no doubt about what's in front of me, their a great investment.

I've had the Rain-X wipers for nearly a year now. I'm very pleased with them and haven't had any problems. No sqeaking and they do a good job cleaning the windshield.

Who makes a blade where the rubber refill can hold up under hot, dry, desert-like conditions all summer and still be pliable come fall?



I've been using Bosch blades and refills as well and have found the refills suddenly scarce (non-existent) at my local outlets. I'm used to replacing the refills each fall for the winter season. The hot summers around her cooks the life out of them though. The last few winters I've started replacing the whole blade with the heated ones from Genos, but I'd like to get more than one summer out of the non-heated, regular ones.

I to would like to have a wiper blade that will stand up to several months of the Texas Heat and still be plyable when it does rain the next time. I have been changing the wipers every six months, but still could get the shutter before the six month time. Great topic HOHN.

Bosch wipers vs others

I have used Anco, Trico, Bosch, Trico Teflons, Rain-X, and others. I find that the Bosch work great for about 6-8 months, depending upon how much heat/sun they get. After speaking with the Bosch rep about them, that's about how long they'll last, and they tried to get a compound that would hold up to the heat and yet remain pliable, so in order to do that, they compromised and have a great edge on them, but after about 6-8 months, they won't clean like they did before.



I got all excited about the Trico Teflons and bought them for all my vehicles when they came out. BIG MISTAKE!!!! After about 3 months, I started having streaks across the windshield where the blade holders clip around the blade from some sort of teflon buildup on the windshield. Man was it hard to see through those lines where the blade did not wipe clean. And even harder to get that darn teflon off the windshield... I took all of them off and went back to Bosch. More expense! I even called Trico and complained, but I still have a bunch of slightly used blades in their packages hanging on the wall in my garage to remind me never to purchase them again!



Anco, Trico regular, and Rain-X all last about the same amount of time here in Virginia, 4-6 months of good service.



I have not spent the money for silicone blades, but maybe I can take the plunge next time...

I use the "Triple Edge" brand of wiper blades on all my vehicles and have for years. They wipe both ways and really show how well work in heavy rain and in snow. I used to change mine out between regular and winter blades but when I went to these I quit doing that. You can find them in most any auto parts shops... ..... Andy

I use these too, but they seem to get "dirty" and start smearing everything. I take a wet rag and wipe them clean and they start working again. They are suppose to have a lifetime warranty I think.

I also use the triple edge wipers. They last a long time to I don't get excited when cleaning up then does not work any more.



I accidently discovered something while I was trying to find a knock in the wiper system. I suspected the wipers (several years ago before I started useing the ones I have now) so I put the ones off my wife's LHS on it to see if the knock went away. (it did) They are 21" long instead of 18" or whatever the stock '95 wipers were. They work just fine and clear more of the windshield. That's what I use now.

I was just thinking about this today! They can make trucks that pull huge weight, cars that can go 200 mph, but it's hard to find a wiper that lasts more than a few months! Every time I fuel up, I scrub the blades with the window cleaner at the pumps. It helps. We have the same problem in Nevada as the other hot, dry places. Rubber craps out before it wears out. Another question... does anyone make replacement arms that actually fold all the way up from the window instead of just lifting off a few inches? I know the newer Dodges have them, but the older ones don't. Thanks!

I have the heated w/w blades from Geno's, been on for 2 yrs. now( about 190Kmi. ), and are working fine. I clean them every so often with amonia. I think they are silicone, and are guaranteed for 2 or 3 yrs. I think they are about 6. 00ea. for replacement.

I think your lifting problem lies with the fact the arms do not clear the hood. My 98 was that way. The newer body design eliminates hood/wiper arm interference.



Unless I am mistaken, there is nothing you can do about it 'cept buy a newer RAM.
