Well hopefully by this time next week I will have my new ride after a 15 week wait.

Although I have been reading this forum for a few months I have never seen it mentioned, who makes the NV5600 and the Tcase?

NV Gears

So what is their reputation like? We all hear GM's claim of Allison. So how does NVG rate by comparison?

The Allison's are GM's automatic transmission's so it would not be proper to compare the Allison with the NVG 6 speed manual. However, in comparison to the 6 speed manuals offered by Ford and GM I think the NVG in the Dodge is king. I'm not totally sure who makes the other manuals but "ZF" ring's a bell for some reason.

New Venture is an expansion of the old New Process gear company that had transmissions and transfer cases in almost every GM and Dodge truck for decades. GM and Chrysler were joint owners of NP, but GM sold their interest a few years back, and DC kept their ownership stake in NV.

Ford used the NP 435 four speed in all their 4 speed pickups in the 70s.

I think ZF is some German company. Better than the Mazda 5 speed used in Fords, but I don't think it has a good reputation. Not like ours!;)
