I have videos of Nowel's truck on the dyno in 2001. We had fun each year, with Sickly getting the better number on diesel only, pushing Nowel back to the drugs to get a higher number.

No. Not Harvey. That’s a different story.
Yea I had respect for the 12 and 24 valve hot rodders like him.
A time when the TDR was mostly veteran wrenchmen/ diesel guys or military guys, or both.
I still never feel the need to BOMB my truck. If I wanna go fast, I get the Hemi or the 340.

That was MANY years ago. He was taken from us TOO soon. He made that little short bed move smartly. I did not know him personally but avidly followed his posts and video's.

The new electronics and fuel delivery makes it difficult. Warranty is very important with the 6.7, even the 5.9 common rail injection, but they should be out of extended warranty by now though.

Hvac was imo one of the pioneers of Diesel hot rodding. Though he certainly wasn't the only one back then pulling us kicking and screaming over to the dark side, that slippery slope. There were others (from TDR and other websites), some gone, some still here like Joseph Donnelly with ol' tired Sickly led me to spend way too much money "Bombing" my truck back then. There was little info back then about making them go faster especially once the 24 valve came out since it was a whole different animal. It was a fairly limited number of people who were doing a lot of the trial and error for their quest of power and limits and the rest of us benefited greatly to get us where we wanted to be. While I wasn't one of them (pioneers) I certainly learned a lot from that group of pioneers during that time of what to do and perhaps more importantly what not to do with my hard earned money. I can remember thinking how the heck do these guys afford to buy all these parts to try something just to find out it didn't work. Injectors, spray angles, hole size, honed or edm, turbos, camshafts, fuel pumps, big lines, what makes the vp44 tick, they literally helped create an industry that perhaps sadly is nothing like it used to be. the diesel performance industry has pretty much run it's course today. Yet today's trucks come OEM with the power many of us wanted and spent a fair amount of money on to get.

Some of the best times were hanging out back then with Sled Puller Gene, Andy Sebek, Ted Kobi, etc. We always had a great time. They were certainly expensive friends with all the money we all poured in our former 24-valves. But is was a good time.

The stuff we used to do out in Muncie.....well, those were the days.

That picture was taken at my home in Sonora Ca when he came up to help me with my truck ( almost a 4 hour drive from his place. He drug up Blair Pine and Mike (Sorry mike last name escapes this old guys memory at the moment)
Ended up memsking many a trip over to Nowels place to wrench on the red rocket .. fun times for sure.
I’m back on TDR now to learn these new electronic wizards we are driving as I bought a ‘18 with an auto of all things lol. The ol #2 finally blew the engine at about 300k most all at well over 500 Hp ( a decent number for a truck back then)

I remember that fondly. I think Jason was there too, long time ago. I still remember that Jeep your wife had, that thing was possessed.
