Well, the saga continues. . but alteast a solution is in site!! I have read where several of you have had the complete axle replaced in your trucks. . Mine is soon to be on the list ( Next week). At 2200 miles the truck had a rear end howl, They fixed ring, pinion, bearings etc. . now at 4500 miles, the howl has returned... and getting worse!! Went to dealer today because they had put 75-140 in the diff and DC reuires the 75-90. The service manager went with me on a test drive and validated my " Howl". . said it was the first one he had seen. . LOLOLOL I saw a tech outside the office and he told me a different story... he said that it should NOT be making that kind of noise, and as soon as they opened it back up... they would end up ordering me a new Axle. The manager wants to put the correct lube in it and fix the seal... (The seal is Weeping, not bad, at the front of the diff where the driveline connects. . pinion seal????) and see what happens. The tech has said that won't do anygood! And when they open er up, there will be abnorlal wear and they will end up replacing the axle...
From what I have read on here, when they replace the axle... all seems better. Also read on TDR where 10% of AAxles have been failing!! Just my luck, but it will be done!!!
