Competition Thanks for the help in Tulare

Just came back from watching "The Red Dragon"... the "prequel" to all the other Hannibal movies, and first off, I must say it was an excellent flick.

Anyway, on the way back from the theater, I have 3 of my friends along in the CTD. There's this little riced out 4 door Honda Civic that is riding my bumper the whole way, on a four lane road... . so, the Comp goes up to 5x5. He heads out to go around, and we get into it... . at 3/4 throttle, we're side by side and 90 mph, and I'm just waiting... never even shifted out of 4th. I keep playing with him, and he finally decides to drop back in behind me and turn his brites on. BTW, when he was next to me, I noticed his girlfriend was giving him the lecture, so figured he didn't want anymore... . wrong!

At the second stop light, we have a turn to the left... two turn lanes. I'm in the right (outer) he's in the left (inner). As you all know, with the Comp on 5x5, you can't keep the tires hooked up around a corner, so I didn't even launch with any boost. The light went green, and he got on it. I came through the corner easy, until about halfway, then broke 'em loose... . as we came out the other side, he had 2 lengths of his car on me... but that was when I got traction. There's no doubt that he was all over his 6 cylinders, cause I didn't pass him till 75. But, at that point, when I rolled down the window and waved, he was done. :D

Felt pretty good to get my first ricer under my tires... more to come, I'm sure. Anyway, just had to brag about opening a can of whoop-a$$. Thought you'd all appreciate it. Oo. Oo. Oo.

Later, Josh.

I've got 1 Honda and 1 Neon on my CTD's belt, but much more and I think I'll be getting a loan for a SBC!

Its funny the clutch :{ while whoop'n up on the ricers, but Oo. while pulling 14,000lbs!

I haven't gotten to spank any ricers lately but the other day I pulled out from work and some hunters in an unworthy Chevy HD gasser were riding my tail. I ease it up to about 70 and they're like 2 inches off my bumper. Hmmmmmmmmm. I ease it up to 75 same thing. Ease it up to 80 still about to run me over. Sooooooo, it's like that huh? So I give the Ram a good 1/2 to 3/4 throttle and she starts emmiting the glorious James Bond persuit foiling smoke. Oh, he tried to keep up, you could tell he was giving the poor thing all it had. I eased back out of mine and held it steady when she settled in about 110mph (love that governer spring kit) and watched him fade into the back ground. After I went far enough to make my point, I slowed back down to about 75. When they finally caught up with me and went around, they were all giving me ugle lookes   :( :{ Hey, not my fault you bought a truck that can't hang :p :p

I raced a 1999 Acura NSX 6-speed "special edition 320 hp". We really didn't get a real clean go, but he tried to pass me when I was boosted up and couldn't do it. At the red light, he got 1-2 car lengths ahead of me, but I was slowly catching up. Then a car pulled out right in front of before I hit 4th gear and the race was over. I pulled into a parking lot and he followed. We sat and talked for about 20 minutes and he asked what I had in that thing. I said "just a 500hp diesel. " He was pretty cool and didn't even get ****** when I belched black smoke all over him.

So far I have smoked

1 F-150 V8

1 Z-71

2 Suburbans

1 Maxipad HD

2 Powerjokes

2 Stock CTD's

1 Mercedes

1 2500 HD GMC gasser

and 1 Mazda B2200

I cannot find any ricers who want to play around here, so on the way to work and home, I play with the suit and tie folks who work downtown in the high rise buildings and drive the big SUV's for the status symbol... they are the best ones to try to play with... . they get all mad when their big 4x4 cant hang with the ol' 6 cylinder billy goat! :D Oh well, my report card, and $. 02 worth

I once owned a NSX, if he knew how to drive and wanted to lose you he could. Plus if the road had any curves, he would of left you in the weeds. I know our trucks can be made to perform like no other truck, but that NSX he was driving should do 112 mph in the qtr. and 0 to 60 in less than 5 seconds. The guy does not know how to drive that NSX or you could not beat him. On the NSX all the power goes to the ground and it only weighs around 3000 lbs. I am sure you impressed him.

Sounds like one of my "kills" on I-75 south of Lexington, KY one time. I had a Chebby Dually hot on my a$$. This guy got on my bumper at 80 mph. I eased up to 85 mph, and he still didn't back off... ... . I get over into the center lane and let him by. Plan is now in place..... NOW it's MY turn... ... We're running around 95 mph or more, but Mr. Chebby can't do anymore. I guess GM decides his POS should not exceed 98 or so. After a few shots of my quad halogen headlamps, Mr. Chebby gets over and gets a 2nd viewing of my 5" stainless tip from my Magnaflow. The Bridgestone LT285/75R16 Dueler AT REVO's drop me from 3. 55 axle ratio to 3. 42 axle ratio..... I long left him in some black smoke at around 119 mph or so. My CTD LOVES to cruise on the interstate with this setup... ... .

From my own experience around Tulsa, when most of those ricers hear my little ol' 35 spooling up... they usually give up:(

I think they are SLIGHTLY intimidated by the whistle...

oh well I have had to just step up the prey a little, to mustangs and camaros... and vettes hopefully soon... .

Pit Bull:

He probably didn't know how to drive and there were no curves. He said his car was supposed to do around 13 in the quarter. That didn't really seem that great to me.

Sounds like a rich guy that really doesn't know what he has. But it is like everything in life if you don't have the balls to take it to 100% why have it :) He might as well drive a Mustang. Cause he doesn't want to mess up his $80,000 car.

I'm not even interested.

Understand what your saying, but most guys that drive $80,000 cars don't pull their living quarters behind them. They stay in 5 star hotels. Um 5 star? I wonder if they are DC hotels? ;)

Put me behind the wheel of that NSX!!! No smoke in my face! But take advantage of non-drivers every chance you get. ;)

I've dusted 2 gas-burner chevys PU's and one Miata in fair fights and me totally stock.

A Z-28 tried to pass me Friday night and she got the surprise of her life. I let her pass later and passed her back, couldn't make her race. That was my first chance to play with the UFM.

I think I'm pretty generous to race folks with my slippy clutch! :p

I wish my clutch would make up its mind, its all picky-like.

I could be race'n a ricer and its all :{ and slip'n, but put a load behind 'er and Oo. :D

Cobra Killer

Depends on the car. My buddy has a 9-second car. Not going to mess with him. I figure my 7000# truck and UFM/dd3's/pdr40/SBC should give 'em a good run. I just don't have the 3's/40/SBC yet. Bring it on! I'll still run 'em. Even if you lose you still get the :--) :--) :--) effect.

You said it. I've been bracket racing for years and if you race you get used to getting outran unless you have more money than sense. The look on their face when the CTD is even in the same ballpark is priceless. I can hardly wait to get my DTT transmission so I can see how my combo runs before I go with DD3s and a comp and, and, and... ... ...

ok guys - ??

I still have not been able to get my 2001. 5 above 100mph. That is all she'll go. 6 speed and 355 ratio with stock tires.

What is wrong with my truck:{ :{ :{ :{
