A solution for tracking illegal alliens

I have been in the Army Reserve since May 3,1985 to present. I am now in the process transfering to the National Guard as a gunner. My MOS in the USAR for 14 years was 54BL5. . NBC Recon specialist. Needless to say I have spent a lot of time at Fort McClellan, AL. I too am a patriot and offer my services to whatever need my country ask. My father retired 1SG from the Marines and Army Reserve with 31 years service , and also retired Civil Service of 30 years. Now he drives a Dry concrete Freightliner for fun. Thanks to all the other soldiers and their contributions to sacrifices that have to be made. I salute you.

Started my military career in Florida National Guard 1953 to 1955, Enlisted US Air Force in 1955 to 1959 flew in RC121's at McClellan AFB, CA. Decided to Retire with 4 in and 16 out, and 2 yrs 9 months and 16 days later I decided the AF wasn't that bad. Then another tour at Kessler to learn electronics, then Robins AFB working on C-124, then on to Ramey AFB, with the Hurricane Hunters WC-130's and WB-47's. Back to McClellan AFB with WC-135's. Still flying and working on Electronic equipment.
On to Charleston and Dover AFB to work on the first C-5A's. Finished up 20 years at Macdill AFB as NCOIC of 56th wing maintance training developing training programs. Many TDY places in between.

Just my career and many of the best years.
Still have wanderlust thanks to the RV and Massively Over Powered And Repected (MOPAR) dually.

Thanks for the opportunity to do this.

July '66 - drafted into the Army

trained as a vehicle recorery and evacuation specialist

July '67 to July '68 - 5 ton wrecker operator for a 5 ton tractor/trailer company located at Pleiku, central highlands, Viet Nam. The military 5 ton tractors only lasted 20,000 miles over there before frames would crack out due to over loading and being driven too fast on the rough roads. They would load 80 to 90,000 lbs on those 5 ton trailers and drive the trucks as fast as they would go. The multi-fuel engiines out ran both the gassers and diesels of the day by large margins. When the seal was broken on the injection pump to get more fueling, flames would shoot out the stack by a couple of feet under hard use.

Have great respect for the military, but hated every minute I was in it and Viet Nam deffinately wasn't a fun place to be.

No military experience, 20 years in law enforcement. I have been thinking about buying a deuce and a half. Any of you military guys have good or bad things to share with me? Is the multifuel a good or bad thing. How about fuel mileage, I do not have a clue what one would do running down the road. I assume they are 45 to 50 mph trucks. A lot of them have hours that are 20 percent of the mileage figure, or average less than five miles per hour for running time. Thanks, Glen

Someone must have been searching the archives for this thread. :) 20 years and 1 week in the USAF. Plenty long enough for me.

Glen,

I have a friend that has a deuce. Continental, (if I remember right), multi-fuel. It's really a sweet running truck. It will do 55 but that's about it's limit. I think he was getting about 5-6 mpg. The multi-fuel just means it can run on other fuel if diesel isn't available, but it's not near as efficient. If you have more questions on it, send me a PM, and I will contact him. After he got his, (even before), I wanted one, but I had just got my Cummins. I'm still trying to make my turbo sing like that one. :D
