Mike,

Which duty station was your favorite? I really enjoyed Misawa, especially after finding a lake with large mouth bass in it!

USAF 2001 to Present

F-15E Crew Chief @ Elmendorf AFB, AK with the 90AMU/3AMXS & 90FS.

90th Flying Circus!

aka the E-model retirement home, or the 90TRS...

My jet dropped the most bombs of any F-15E over Afghanistan while part of Mountain Home AFB. Then it got moved to the 90th at Elmendorf AFB, and it'll probably never get to kill people or blow stuff up ever again... so sad.

... And the SST (Sortie Suppression Team) has mostly all PCS'd or PCA'd...

Oh yeah, and worst of all, the 6. 0 PSD is popular around the squadron. I try, but they won't listen, and they won't let me tow jets with my truck. Grrrrrr...

I served in the Army branch of the military, I joined as a PFC (E-3) and trained at Fort Knox Kentucky. I enjoyed the stay, we had a one stop unit training so my basic training lasted 23 weeks, the first 3 or 4 were spent waiting for the new cycle to begin. It really was not bad, I too as others have written, liked the challenge and the competition between teams. We were some of the first trained on the M1 tank. I had the honor of being the best gunner of the training cycle and got to shoot a exhibition round for military and political dignitaries, what a start.

Spent my whole hitch in a place right outside of Frankfort, Germany. Feel in love with the place and the people and had a terrific time. Got to train with the Brits, Germans, and French forces while staying at their bases for 2-3 week periods. They always treated me good, and most time I always went home with one on the weekends with one of the guy's in the company, which worked out great cause most times they had a sister.

Made E-5 in 18 months and pretty much went straight to the gunners positions, which I absolutely loved. Had several distinctions for best gunner in several levels of the 3rd Armored Division. Married the most wonderful girl in the World while over seas and we have been together every since. I truly loved my job in the military, and between training and volunteering for extra training, I often spent over 250 days in the field. There is something about sitting next to that huge cannon, and and being in control , Steel on Steel! I left the military only because I knew I didn't want to stay for twenty years, that was never the plan and it didn't make since to stay any longer then my four year hitch. It would just be prolonging the inevitable. I was discharged Honorably, and have forever cherished those wonderful memories.

US Army 96-98 as a mechanic MOS 63S10H8. Served in Germany & Bosnia(miss it from time to time). National Guard 99-2003 MOS 13B10 Artillery 155MM Palidin (Joining the National Guard was quite possibly one of the worst decisions Ive ever made and would not recomend it to anyone).

18 yrs US NAVY as a Electronic Technician. Past three yrs spent traveling to support our Commander in Chief. Looking forward to getting out on the left coast and supporting our nations 911 Force at Camp Pendleton.

US Navy May '98 - May '04. (Yes I'm almost done!)

Engineman First Class.

Enjoyed it at times, hated it at times, it's just time to do something different. (Like farming)

Would do it again and highly recommend it to anyone that asks about it.

I'm the one. One of the men that said, "Serving our country should not be optional".

Old Army Soldier.

'59-'62, Armored/Infantry. Sat on the runway in Germany ready to go to Lebanon in '62. Had we went to Muslimland then and established a democratic government our troops probably wouldn't be in Iraq now.

Did the Berlin chrisis.

Did 3 years civilian life.

Did the Vietnam.

24th Inf. div.

3rd of th 3rd CAV

9th MSL Bn

Material Management

Today, A grandson is an Armored Scout in Iraq.

Daughter and Son In Law are military intelligence (Army Reserve) Daughter called to duty for one year.

Like many I offered my life for 20 years during bad times and good times. Why? Loved it.

58 thousand of my comrades didn't survive RVN, and many thousands more have died during training of our Nations defense.

I like many, am enjoying a grand life.

My issue with those that chose not to serve their country is that they often chose not educate themselves about what this nation is or is not and the responsibilities and courage that is required for this nation to continue to be America.

HAIL TO THE CHIEF!

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, (Psalm 122. 6)
