Tom:

we definitely missed you this weekend... . and BTW a belated "WELCOME HOME"

Scotty finally found out what it was like to drive a RED FORD 4X4 :D :D

he did say it was a whole new world trying to get the hang of the hand actuated fuel feed

I wasn't there for Sundays events, but I am certain the results will be posted shortly

big jake

THE FORD GUYOo. Oo. Oo.

why was it breaking up? mechanical or driver problem?

i bet it was fun getting used to the new style truck, scott should have a fun year with it.

too bad its not blue anymore, i really loved the sonic blue on that truck :(

whats better for a loose track... bigger gear?

sorry i am a newb to pulling and i will need to assess my first track this week.

not sure if i should go 2nd hi, or 4th lo

thanks Grey Wolf---

it looks to me like Scott was having some issues with the hand throttle--but that's to be expected on his first run--hopefully he'll post and gives some insight----he'll be learning on the hoof and that's not easy to do----chris

Way to save that motor on a loose track for VEGAS Scott!! Attaboy!Oo.

I can't beileve it didn't get under the turbos. Hand throttles a bit touchy, eh?

First chance I have had to sit down to the ole PC sorry guy's, it was 6 hour drive got in late and right to work at 0530 this morning, got home and had to off load everything which is a chore with my pit crew, but hey there learning as am I.

I am happy with the outing even if we wouldn’t have taken first in the qualifying on Saturday. I was just happy to finally get some seat time. it’s actually so much different just moving the truck around even, loading on and off the trailer so going threw that whole evolution of teaching my wife and son to use a winch and drive a new Kawasaki mule, towing me with it, and starting the truck with ether etc… there is lot that has changed its not like ole well we got a new truck. There is a lot more work and thanks to a lot of folks here we were prepared and went through it pretty smoothly first time out, it will only get better.

Now as far as my driving, I just wasn’t patient enough and wanted to go way too early, I never lit the second charger. Don’t laugh, but I never made it over 4000rpm’s :{ Did you know that 4000rpm’s sounds like 6000rpm’s when there is only a piece of tin between you and the motor, its not like there is a full dash and a insulated firewall or anything :-laf

In the video, which was Saturday, when I left the line the tires broke loose on the SAND and she headed for 6000rpm in a snap so I backed out of it and she started bouncing the rest is me bouncing the hand throttle, most thought it was intentional and why we did so good on the SAND, little do they know, as Chris said, they didn’t see but a quarter of the power this thing has. I might mention we were 1,200 pounds light for the class (8,500) as well, I wasn’t real sure what the truck weighed with the box empty, but I added all I had and now I know I need more, so if any body has any lead on the West coast for sale give me a shout.

The track was an actual SAND drag track, I kid you not, with two lanes divided tree and everything.

Chris, I promise to bring the R’s up next time

I will be posting some pictures up on my sites hopefully this week some time guy's so stop by if you get a chance, I am always looking for feedback and or constructive critisim.

That is a drag having to pull on a sand track with that much truck. Hopefully some of the other tracks will provide a better opportunity to show what that truck is really all about. - Hint hint - the Vegas DHRA pull had better have some good dirt Gene:D

If I recall correctly, the two feet of dirt I pulled on in that oval track in Parump was pretty decent. But hey, Vegas is in the middle of a desert I am sure the DHRA will come through :D

hilmar hooks good, I heard stagno broke his deere ripped the hub right out of the wheel. I looked at the tractor today at his shop. looked a little funny on the trailer with no wheels ridin on the wheely bars all the way home.

Ca is just the sand box... . no matter what. .
