New 06 on its way(break in?)

Has anyone else had fit problems? The trucks that I have done here seemed to go well, but I have a very good customer of mine that's having issues with fit problems, the piping was a foot short and had extra parts? Talked with the guys in the back today and they never had this problem. What's up guys, I feel like s**t that I'm the only guy he can get ahold of over the long weekend and I can't really help him cause I haven't had this happen. I don't understand why there would be fit issues on a bolt up kit? He not very happy and I don't blame him, so any help would be great.

What extra parts did he have? The downpipe is the same that we supply and use on all the 3rd Gens. Can I assume they don't have the DD exhaust?

I just installed mine this afternoon on my 06. The only real problem I have is getting the front inside bolt tight. It's so tight I don't have room to really get a wrench on it. I had to grind down a socket to get the back inside one tight. It's just so much larger around than the stocker so space is tight.

The new location of the cold air tube doesn't leave much room for the stock intake.

I also did NOT have to use the included down pipe. The 06 stock exhaust bolted up with no leakes. It's maybe 1/8" smaller than the turbo outlet but the clamp still pulled everything tight. I don't know what it's worth but I guess I'll sell it.

Over all the turbo seems to work very well. Spool up with stock power isn't great but it's not that bad. Once lit it really spools up well. With the TST on 6x6 it works very well. EGT's only hit around 1300 (or so) and the boost was around 38#. It was nice not having the waste gate dumping at 31#.

One thin I did notices is that it takes longer to cool down. I also took of the AFE filter & tube so that may be part of it. This is with stock air box (with hole in bottom) and stock exhaust.

These big turbos really suck some air.

Mike
