I've been eyeballing Superlift's new 4" lift kit for the 3rd Gen rams. Saw one on ebay for $970 not long ago. Don't know much about it though. If you look under Readers Rigs, check out Gravediggers ram -- i think his is the Superlift kit with 315's.

Mine is a 4" Superlift with dual front shocks and triple shocks on the front. It rides a little stiff on the front and I'm looking for a way to make one of my shocks none functional or get a dummy shock for the front to help loosen it up. Other then that it rides great. No problems to speek of. The ride is better then what it was at stock level, and I can still take the turn just as fast as before the lift. Also their is no top heavy feeling when driving the truck.

Click on my www link at the bottom to see more pics. at my dtw web site.

Gravedigger..... I saw your truck on DTW and I must say it looks great! I notice you have custom subs ... . where did you install them and did you have to remove the folding floor? Lastly, where did you find the best price on your Superlift?

thanks,

Steve

Sound system was done by Audio Warehouse here in SLC Utah. Yes the folding floor had to go.

Lift was bought and installed by 4 Wheel Parts. I was going to go with Perfect Additions to do my lift, but 4 Wheel Parts had a special on a Saturday for half off install which brought them down to be the same price as the other place.

ONly slightly now with D25's and 2" blocks, but a kelderman 4" kit is in the works for this spring, using a skyjacker front box kit.

Gotta keep the 03 sane, unlike my last ram on 38's :D

my 3500 should be delivered next month and its getting a 6" lift with 37/12. 5/17 tires. Also line X in the bed.

I am running D25's on the front and a PA 3' body lift. If you are concerned about the ride I feel this is the way to go. Mine actually rides better than it did when stock. I have always hated body lifts but after looking at a couple of Dodges with them I decided to give it a try. They do not make a kit for my truck with the Cummins but I bought the regular 3/4 ton gas kit and just had to modify a few simple things. It's not a bad job and if you take the time to get your bumpers straight, you can not tell it's got a body lift at all. It honestly looks like it came from the factory like that. The only thing I don't like about it is the reciever hitch hanging down below the bumper. I am going to do some work on that though. Best part is I only have $400 in the springs, front shocks, and body lift. I got enough clearence for my 315-75-16 BF's and 16x10 Atlas wheels. Check it out in my gallery.

Gravedigger's truck is nice and clean and done right. If I have the option to take a shortcut and install a cheap body lift or wait and save money for a true suspension I'll be saving my money. I've had a body lift and they are noisy and poorly designed. Any company that makes you weld a piece of steel rod to your transmission linkage to add 3" of lift is budget.

Dang B, you sure are ruff on a brother thats very happy, and proud with his own truck. I agree with you 100% on the body lifts. I normally hate them. But if you take the time to do it right, it works pretty good on a Dodge. Gravedigger has a very nice looking truck and so do you. If I would have had an extra $1000 bucks laying around I might would have bought the suspension lift. But now that I have put it on, I am extremly happy with it. The D25 springs in front ride better than stock and if you ask me it is quieter in the cab now ( maybe it's because the body is farther away from the exhaust and drivetrain, could be my immagination though :) ) I am in no way trying to start an argument over what is the best way. But I am going to say I am glad I made the choice that I did. I never go off-road with my truck so articulation does not mean nothing to mean. I bought my Cummins to pull my bright yellow Bullet bass boat anywhere that I want to pull it, and look good doing it.

P. S. Hey BCrowther, did you catch the part about me saying you have a great looking truck to.

Don't get me wrong SMadden I'm not slamming you or your truck and apologize if it came across that way. I was simply trying to point out that the body lift in and of itself is a very poor design IMO. I had one on my 2001 1500 and that thing was noisy (creaked and popped) no matter how tight I kept the mounts. The other things that bothered me were the steering shaft spacer and the rod that extends the trans linkage. I just wasn't impressed with the quality of the product. Didn't mean to come off as a personal slam at you SMadden.

Don't hold it against him. On other boards He's Expected to tell people what he thinks of body lifts ;) :D

I had a body lift and everything was fine with it, but then again there are things I didn't care for much about it also.

PA actually makes a cummins body lift for the 3rd gen's now too.

This is just my opinion, but I think your choice of lift depends on your intended use of the vehicle. In my case, I want near-stock strength (or better) for use off-road. To that end, I want to use the absolute minimum lift size that will allow me to clear 35 inch tires: 2 inches. I figure that way, it will minimize any adverse torques on the frame and suspension components, while still fitting those tires without rubbing.

Having said that, from an aesthetics standpoint, I like BIG lifts. But I see them as "mostly for looks" rather than practicality.

Again, just an opinion.

2 inch lift

I've got 2" Revtek spacers in front and 2" superlift blocks in back wit 315's. I like the look and it turns a lot of heads. I like the looks of big lifts but it's not as practical for 99. 9% of my driving. FYI, I do feel more wheel hop with the blocks. I have new pics but they aren't posted yet, Maybe this weekend.

I just put on a Superlift 6" and 35" PJ's on mine. I would have gone with 37" tires but with 10" wheels they hit the fenders. 37" barley clear with 8" wheels. 35" barley clear with 10" wheels. Tit's, Tires, Or Tracks the bigger the better!
