Ford Ranger Question

What do you see?

This has happened to me the last couple of times I go to fuel up.

I pull up to the pumps, take the nozzle and put it in the truck, select the fuel type and wait for the pump to reset. and wait. and wait.

Finally, I look inside the store to see if the clerk is still alive and she is waving at me to come inside. Apparently, I must prepay before she'll turn the pump on.

WHY?

I've never stolen gas(or diesel). Why is it automatically assumed that I will. It's a drag having to go in the store to wait in line to prepay, go out to pump the fuel, then go back in to wait in line for my change. Besides, with fuel prices as low as they have been, is gas theft still a major problem anymore?

There are a couple of places I've been to that do not require that I prepay and from now on they will receive the majority of my business. Even after I get my card.

I normally use my check card to pay at the pumps, but since I opened a new checking account here, I haven't received my card yet and am paying in cash.

I hear ya brother... ... ... ... ... I go to the same ststion every week. The same cashier every week. Same big a$$ truck (mine) every week. You would think the dumba$$ would know I always go inside to pay but yet, she asks over the loud speaker "pump 10, are you paying inside or outside?"  What gets me more is that I press the button the says "PAY INSIDE"

WTF !?

I love my card-lock membership fueling stations :D < Pacific Pride >

Gas stations in Kommiefornia have been pre-pay for so long now, I am almost lost when I travel in other states where that non-sense is not normal.

Batman , you crack me up "WTF" LMAO  :D hey try this one fill up at night and then when you go in to the teller ask her why she does'nt trust you ask do I look like a thief, and then tell her that only 2 kinds of people work at night Hookers ad Thiefs then smile and say OK then I will be the thief :D ... ... ... ..... Kevin

Here's one for you. when you go in to prepay, make the cashier give you a receipt for the amount of money you gave them. when they ask "why?". say "if you don't trust me, why should i trust you?"

Mongoose... ... ... ... ... ..... I think your thnking too much... ... ..... but you know what? I will do that next time, great idea

Here Is The Reason !

My Wife manages a major truck stop and you would not believe the number of Drive Offs they had before going to pre-pay. Big Rigs have pumped 200+ gallons and driven off. You can go broke in a hurry. ;) The scale guy can not see the other rigs when one is on the scale. The THIEF pumps his fuel, lays down the nozzle and drives off. Happened all the time and when they started having them arrested and prosecuted it helped somewhat. ;) ;) ;)

After this happened to me a couple of times I decided that I had had enough of being inconvenienced due to the station unloading their problem on me. If they have a problem with people stealing product then they need to deal with the thief, not all the innocent customers that are supporting them.

I will not buy from any station that requires me to do their job for them. I will go out of my way to buy from sellers that really want my business. I have not prepaid in several years and there are enough stations with credit card accepting pumps or a non prepaying policy around that I do not have to deal with this.

The one that get's me po'd is being told I can't fill at the trucker's pumps because I'm not a 'big rig' . So I take my 50' rig (36 trailer plus about 14 truck) over to the postage stamp sized car filling lot and jack-knife it into a fuel stall ... blocking all traffic. Their call. I wouldn't care but I worry about someone hitting me while I close down the station. That's why Pilot no longer gets my business.

I only buy at CFN if possible. Otherwise pay at the pump credit card. The rest of them can kiss me where the sun doesn't shine.

"Pay before you pump"

One of my pet peves.

Another is waiting in line to pay behind someone who looks like their trying to do all their grocery shopping at the gas station.

Remember when fuel stations used to sell FUEL?

Guess I am lucky. I have three handy truck stops to pick from. No prepay. Goes with the minimal crime rate I guess. Not to mention everyone is well armed.

Ooooooooooooo... ... ... ... ..... you mean the 7th planet from the sun... ... . your@nu$ !?????

BTW, I new what you meant, figured I would be a moron tho. LOL
