Here I am

Why can't all forums be as good as the TDR?

Attention: TDR Forum Junkies
To the point: Click this link and check out the Front Page News story(ies) where we are tracking the introduction of the 2025 Ram HD trucks.

Thanks, TDR Staff

This is a switch

is it too much to ask for a $19.99/mo cel phone plan?

Man, I am frustrated with another forum board that I use for my other truck. I've got an old clunker ford truck that I am trying to turn in to my daily driver. Well, after a good day and a half of work, it has power steering but without turn signals working 100%. I thought asking a question about wiring would result in a good lead if nothing. I was wrong. One of the head guys there is hassling me about using the search function and telling me what to search for, and then later posting links to the search results while basically saying I'm an idiot, and it only took him 2 minutes to find what I am looking for. The truth is, I have read those old threads several times already, and they don't have the info that I need:mad: .

Sorry, had to vent somewhere.

Thank goodness there is this site for the main truck in my life.

Hey Matt: Bad grounds can cause all kinds of wierd turn signal problems. Check cab and bed grounds and any ground wires at each light. Hate those electrical gremlins!!!

I am convinced that if there was another board that was as cool as the tdr. The universe would collapse on itself. Too much cool for one galaxy.

Hey Matt, heres the problem, you aren't dealin with guys that play with a full deck of cards on that site. I caught this thread within about a minute of searching over there. Some real geniuses out there right?? :D

That thread is pretty hilarious!!!

"Why would anyone want more power than the big 3 already have stock?" BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA... ... ... ... poor gasser punks... . don't know the meaning of torque and have never had any fun in an 8000 lb pickup. They must be used to doing 0-60 in half-a-day.

I get a kick out of the guys who think the PSD is the best out there. Fine, let em think that. THe decreased demand makes my next CTD a few pennies cheaper. A few cents here and there adds up. I've never driven a PSD that could get out of its own way; the new GM engines arent much better- hafta keep the pedal buried in the floor to tow... ... . Guy at work pointed to a PSD the other day, and said "There's the best engine ever made. Go 400,000 miles. " I said, "Is that all they're good for?" The look on his face was priceless. Keep in mind, I'm in gasser he!!, where anything over 200K is shot, used up, broke.

I'd say they are a few picnics short of a sandwich over there.

ANother thought on why we're the best

Someone here said recently that, because we have to pay a modest yearly membership fee, that the trouble making, ***** disturbers get weeded out. Hmmm... ... $2. 95 a month for a better forum than the freebies? Sounds like a good deal to me. I spend more than that in coffee and pop every month.

Even though the Ford site is "free" (referring to The Dieselstop), they still want to weed out the "trouble-makers", or at least want to delete your posts. It's happened to me, even though I had made an honest competition.

Someone there had said that we are dumb for paying a membership fee to post here, and that they were smarter because they don't.

I am also still a member of Powerstroke Registry (PSR). Have been longer than here. It is $35 for a quarterly magazine ONLY. No forums on their site. We have both for the same price. Comparing both, which one is the better deal? I left it at that. Oh, gee, what a surprise, it got deleted.

The Ford site may be free, but you get what you pay for. I see more p****** and moaning than anything else. There are some that help, but not as many as there should or could be. It's a shame that they lower themselves to that level. For the most part, it stays pretty tame here.

I have learned alot and enjoy my time here. I don't go to the Ford site much with the BS that goes on, don't even have to go to the "other" forum for that. How many times does someone ask, "What's your VIN!?", here, unless it is needed to actually help some out?

I'll get off the box now.

Good news update!!

Through dumb luck, the old girl is working great complete with turn signals. I tried switching two wires around at the advice of a friend who had no reason as to why, and what do you know, it worked. We were both pretty shocked.

On a similar note, we figured out why the truck kept cutting out on acceleration. There was no return spring in the accelerator pump.
