That is what I figured. How do we insure that we get a matched set. You would think the obvious answer would be to deal with someone of integrity. Who would that be that handles 275s?

Yes, I have the Bully Dog stage 1s installed. I have mixed emotions for several differant reasons. Think I'll buy a set of 275s and try them... ... ... ... ..... Sure would like a matched set.

you can get a matched set from a bosch dealer , cost is 15 bucks moreper injector . what they do is match the pop off pressures i believe , they just grab a bunch and test them , the matched ones are closer together , they are not exactly the same as that would be impossible to do and would cost more than 15 bucks a pop . honestly i don't think most , if not all of us, could tell the difference between the 2 .

edit ... oh and why did i get them ? because i'm CHEAP and couldn't bring myself to spend what a set of DD's cost , but i should have just bought the DD's to begin with as the 275's just aren't enough for me , but i may leave them in long enough to see if my truck passes the new emmission testing that MASS. is doing this year for diesels , if not i still have my originals to put in for the retest , i wonder if the DD3's will pass #ad

Same reason for me as Mopar. Am er, WAS, a cheap #$%%er. Now I 've got the bug, and I'm over the biggest hurdle on the way to 450hp - admitting that it costs what it costs. I'm going for DDIII's and my 275's will be for sale soon if anyone is interested in a set at a good price - less than 8000 miles on em, they DID do what I wanted at the time, give some noticable towing power.

Matched sets = equal flow, equal popoff pressures

The RV injector sets you normally buy are not flow & popoff matched.

Jannetty Racing is the only place I know of that sells very closely matched sets of RV injectors, but they cost more because of the labor put into it. I think Ted gets them within 1-2%. According to what I've seen posted they can vary by as much as 10%.

All the DD and Bullydog injectors are flow & popoff matched, within 1% I believe (at least DD's are that I know of).

So Barry, what's the deal here?? You got the bug EH? or really think you need more motor. By the sounds of the towing reports the truck does OK.

You're going to get me in trouble. Just put a Puck and a PS boost mod in mine and am tickled.

I'm thinking DD#1's That way you know they are matched.

Barry,
I thought you already purchased the stage1 bullydog's. If so, have you tried them out?

Barry,

Can you expound a little on your "mixed emotions" regarding your Bully Dog stage 1's? I'm stock now, but just about ready to fly into some mild bombing. I've decided to start with the EZ and injectors, I keep flip-flopping on the injector issue... can't decide between DD stage 1's, Bully Dog 1's or RV's. What don't you like about your BD 1's?

I got caught between two friends on my injector deal. It's an inner feeling that may have nothing to do with the product. I have had a slightly noticable stumble and miss after loooong hours of towing with the EZ. And then, when I installed the injectors, they really agravated the problem. On a personal note, I really get "up tight" when there is something wrong with my truck. All the symptoms point to an electronic problem. (long hours of towing, heat=electronic break down). If the truck ran all the time like it does for the first hour or so of operation, it would be great! Like a few others, my only interest is in towing power, not racing. Here Dmax, here Dmax... ... ...

At the time I installed mine they were already a proven piece, while some of the others were still in the experimental phase or didnt even exist.

I purchased 275's originally for the fact that they are a factory spec'd part for a Cummins motor. They were a nice addition along with an EZ. 2 months later, I wanted more, and therefore went to DD2's.
What a difference. Very nice injectors, that combined with an EZ, come on strong.

275's are a safe bet, not too much, not too little. Plus price is very reasonable. But...

Once the bug bites, you'll find out you want more. You can't help it.

arar, no they are not matched. If you want matched sets you usually pay about $15 more each. They can usually be matched down to 1%-2% deviation.

When I was shopping for injectors a number of folks emailed me with a set of almost new 275s for $200. I thought that was a bargain. I opted to spend $409 for a set of 1s and them $125 to install. Those of you that have expressed interest on this thread for 275s hopefully have been contacted by those guys that have them for sale. If not, now is your chance... ... ... ... ... .

I've been running the RV275 injectors for almost 2 years now. I got them because the were new Bosch injectors which were designed for our engines. I've been quite happy with them, but must admit that I'm thinking I need more power this summer.

When I installed mine, I also installed new o-rings on the fuel tubes. I haven't noticed anyone comment on replacing this o-rings since I installed mine. At the time I thought the few cents that new o-rings cost was pretty cheap insurance. I assume that most people installing injectors now, just pull the fuel tubes back far enough to let the injector come out and don't bother replacing the o-ring on the tubes.

VAUGH--How can I tell if my 98. 5 has the old style injector tubes? My truck was mfg. April of the year they came out. I am seriously considering bosch 275's and want to do a "complete" swap. I don't want to be putting around with an eratic idle.
