Why doesn't someone build a 12v lift pump?

In the gasser world, there are many mechanical lift pumps and some claim to support up to 2000hp. There is a mechanical pump in back of the NHRA National Dragster that is about $300 and supports high HP.

My question is, why doesn't someone just redo the 12 valve lift pump to flow more fuel, or design a new one to go in the same spot????

I would think that would be better than a belt driven pump or depending on electronics.

I dont think there's that much of a demand for a pump that'll support that much HP.

Does any 12 make that much? I believe the stock pump will support 500-600hp. ? I'm pretty sure the 5. 9 pump is identical to the one's in the 8. 3 engines.

I would however like to see a rebuild kit. :D Freakin pump costs about $120 for what???? $5 worth of rubber and a few springs?#@$%!

There may be some demand, but I don't know how much. Seems like I hear more and more people switching to electric pumps.

I have a brand new PDR OFV(200miles), fuel lines and fuel filter(200miles), the lift pump is 2 yrs old, injector pump has 210k, and the PDR 370 injectors only have about 10K on them and I can drop my fuel pressure all the way down to 0psi on WOT, so either my lift pump isn't any good or the injector pump sucks because something is definately not keeping up with the fuel.

Is it a possibility that the lift pump can't keep up with the fueling??

Fuel pressure at idle is 19psi and 30psi crusin down the rd.
