First timer here with new 2002 HO. Been a Chevie guy with a mechanical TD6. 5 in a 93 K2500 and was just about to build a 300hp for it when my little brother came up needing a pickup so I made the jump to Cummins as I have always had a secret lust for it's simplicity and power potential. Liking durability and reliability I picked the ST with a 6spd and HO as I have plans for a performance upgrade in time. Love the rattle but sometimes I would LIKE my wife to ride with me (I know, I know, the rattle is how we keep 'em OUT of our trucks!) and saw that the hood had no insulation. WELL, thinking I really got a cheap model I investigated and found all 2002's had no insulation and I would have to order a 2001 setup for 81bucks plus 15 clips. But why? Is it a heat issue? A cheapout issue? Anybody know? George
