I have seen a few on here that have an classic car. Since it's a little slow now during the holidays and most of us have their classic cars in storage for the winter it would be cool to hear what others might have in their shops.

I myself have three 1956 Chryslers, a New Yorker St. Regis 2dht, a New Yorker Town & Country Wagon and a Windsor Limo.

The St. Regis is my joy during the summer months, the Wagon are under restoration and my Windsor are a unrestored car. It's drivable, but it needs some work, My grandfather bought it new in 56 and are the reason for being in the classic car hobby.

I enjoy any old car, but my heart goes to the fifties MoPars. And the CTD are perfect to haul all the parts for my old cars :D

Now it's your turn :)

Well I sort of collect "classic" cars. Many on here would not even look at these cars,and many still would not consider them "classic",but I do,and I love these cars. I have in my stable now,an 1983 Limited edition Mazda RX-7,that is rotting pretty bad. I have owned it for many years,and restored it back in 99,but it is about to be a parts car. I got a replacement for it back in October. The new one is what I consider a very collectible classic to the right person. It is a early production first model year 1979 Mazda RX-7 GS in Spark yellow paint. It has a build date of 5/78 which is a really early production date for any first model year 7,let alone an east coast car,and I bought it from the original owner with boxes of stock parts,and loads of paperwork. I even have a notebook with every gas fill-up for the car from 1978 till 2000 when the car was parked until I bought it. The car is in awesome shape,and needs very little to be perfect. I also own a ultra rare 1974 Mazda Rotary engine pickup truck,that is in great shape,and may just be the only registerable one in Massachusetts. So like I said these may not be "classics" in many peoples eyes,mainly due to their country of origin,and relativly young age,but they are fun,and are only going to go up in value I think over the years.

You can see in my sig what I have. The Mustang would be a daily driver, if I didn't have it licensed as an antique. The Cougar is driveable, but not licensed and has been sitting for about the last 8 years, so it's about ready to be restored anyway. I also have a '50 Ford 2-dr sitting around, for when I run out of other projects. :D The Ford thing came from my Dad, who has a few sitting around, too, along with a 56 Chevy Belair, which is completely original, including the paint.

I'm working on that's kinda scarce - a 1936 Hudson Terraplane 2-Door Sedan. Don't see very many of them at the car shows.

'67 Fairlane GTA big block. Next to be restored.

'68 Mustang Sprint coupe. 2nd owner, even have the original lien title. To be restored someday.

55 F100 Bought it in '83 restored and driven since '90.

Hope to buy a Lil Red Express real soon now. Wife doesn't know it yet... :D

I currently have a '70 Chevelle and recently picked up a '87 Buick Turbo "T"that should be able to run an 11. 40 qtr mile and still be driven coast to coast and get 20 MPG !!! :D

My Dad has a 1921 Dodge Brothers that I would like to do something with someday, it's been sitting in a garage since I was a little kid.

I passed up a 1969 Z28 back when I was in the Navy for $2000 because I didn't have the time or the place for the car, it was spotless and just needed putting together, it had all new NOS wheels and beauty rings and trim pieces, last time I heard $45,000 couldn't buy it :{

My brother in law just sold his 1978 Trans Am with 48,000 miles on it, I would've liked to buy that but the wife wanted a new house instead, silly wife! :-laf

O. k. here's what I've got :

1951 Chrysler New Yorker-2 door coupe-(1st year V-8 for Chrysler-1st year Hemi)- engine pic enclosed.

1964 Plymouth Fury 4 door- ( It's a creampuff of a car- and my everyday driver. )

1965 Dodge Coronet 2 door Post car- racer

1965 Plymouth Barracuda- racer

1966 Dodge Charger- top speed racer- highway flier and troublemaker.

You could say I'm stuck in the 60's Mopar thang:-laf

This is my dads list.

'32 Model 'A' 5 window, his dad bought it off the show room floor, got neglected for 20 years and is not in perfect condition.

'53 F-100 its in parts now but it my job putting it together while i'm on leave next week.

'68 Camero burns a 1:1 ratio of fuel to oil

'72 Firebird runs like a champ but needs suspension and body work.

The F-100 sat for 8 years in the weather. I pulled the oil pan, cleaned the crud out of the carb, refilled the crankcase and she fired right up.

Our collection as it stands now, in ascending order:

1. 1950 Mercury - Flathead 8, 3 on the tree

2. 1970 Buick Skylark Convertible - The 455 Stage 1 is almost done for the car, now we need to start restoring the car. We are restoring it as a GSX Clone

3. 1970 Buick GS - More or less just a parts car, but I will count it nonetheless

4. 1978 Corvette - My mom's car. She is the original owner and it has about 42,000 miles on it

Wow I cant believe how many cars we have gotten rid of. This past summer I sold my 67 Fairlane and the summer before that I sold my 68 Mustang. Also within the past few weeks we have sold 3 of our old Ford pickups.

Ted

:-laf Thanks Ted! It's hard to pass up on a good deal on a classic old Mopar! I wish I coulda kept all the cars I've either had or coulda had. :{ :{

Man- I need a bigger shop!

I traded an unused Mopar Mega Block Wedge Block to a local racer who also builds racing engines on the side, that he needed for a customers rail that lost a motor and he was in the points chase so I gave up that block to help his cause, and I've been impatiently been awaiting a Mopar Mega Block Hemi with the Raised Cam Option and 4. 5" bore;as the replacement for the Mega Block Wedge- I gave up... . He is insisting that around Jan 15th I'll have my new block. And I've been waiting a few months now so his time is drawing near. That new block will be built up for the Charger. :cool:

I've had classic Mopars my whole adult life. Right now in the shop waiting for some love is a 49 Dodge Wayfarer business coupe. This will be the rat rod with the powerplant from my 89 D150. Just a dumb smallblock, but she will be fun to drive to the office. The other toy is a 1952 Dodge Dually. This is the special project that will have full air ride suspension, a chopped cab, custom bed and of course a stump pulling CUMMINS with stacks. Not quite sure if I want to run twin turbos or not yet. It depends on how much stuff I can fit beneath the stock sheetmetal.

We used to have one of those, infact I think we still have stuff laying around from it. Ours was a maroon color w/the fluid-drive transmission. If you get a chance, PM me or email pics of yours. I really liked ours, but time and money put a hamper on restoration jobs as we all know.

I've got a 67 Impala. It was my first car and I drove it every day for the first couple years of high school. I got tired of driving the Impala in the snow, and I got my first truck (a 97 ram 1500) in 99. I started to restore the Impala after that, and it keeps getting nicer. I'm so glad now I stopped driving it before it started to rust.

Here is a pic beside my 02.

I don't collect them, but I have a 1955 or 1956 Chevy pickup I'm trying to find a new home for. I don't have the time, money, or space any longer to work on in. PM me if anyone is interested.

1968 Pontiac GTO 400 4-speed - owned since I was 14, rebuilt motor in '85, body in '86, chassis in '98. Time for some body panels and new paint.

Could of had it's sister for $100 minus motor :{

1972 Pontiac Firebird Formula 350 4-speed - solid body, needs restoration, probably will get a 400.

Would love to have a 1965 GTO 4-speed tri-power, 70-73 TA, 69 Grand Prix, or early 60's full size. I think I have Indian blood in my veins :D
